I bought a big box like this so I would have them on hand just in case I needed them for yard work or going shooting. I find that since they are readily available I then to use them often to help protect my hearing. They feel great and work well.

I hate having to wear ear plugs. But I have a wife who snores at a decibel level to rival the takeoff of an Atlas rocket booster. So several years ago I started buying ear plugs. The ones I bought in the drug stores were mediocre at best. My brother recommended these and sent me several pairs. They block noise more effectively (when properly inserted) than any others I've found, and they also last longer. I can use them for four or five days before replacing them rather than one or two with others. I can still hear my wife snoring with them inserted but at least the decibel reduction allows me to sleep. They are also excellent for wearing while shooting firearms. They come in little plastic envelopes and it is very handy to toss a few pairs into your luggage and/or glove compartment to have ready for whatever need comes along.

I had a MRI and was given these 3M earplugs to silence the clanging noise. I took them home and used them to block out my husband’s snoring. Miracle. I am able to sleep. I have been searching for earplugs that really block sound and don’t hurt my ears. So happy to find them. I highly recommend 3M earplugs.

These are a good compromise between the orange earplugs I found too hard, which cut more noise but put pressure on my ear canal, and the yellow earplugs that don't have the flared bell shape that were too difficult to remove. I use these at night to cut my wife's mild snoring noise. They don't eliminate it, just dampen enough so I can sleep through it. Because they are softer and have no strap, I can lay on my side without feeling them. My wife wears them, too, because I sometimes stay up late and they cut the TV sound as heard from downstairs.If you just go by the decibel rating, you'll be disappointed with these because they only get that rating at some frequencies. The orange ones (Howard Leight) have a broader spectrum of attentuation.These will sometimes tear chunks out during removal but usually I can remove them with my fingers. I have found that for me, I can reuse them one night. After that, they aren't effective enough. Earwax can be removed from them with rubbing alcohol, but it's a chore and they don't work as well then, either.For sleep use, I recommend them.

This is my second purchase, and I love these ear plugs! My first box lasted me 8 months of nightly use. It could have lasted longer had I not grabbed a new set of ear plugs every night, but I found that they tend to become less effective every time they are reused. My husband's snoring is ungodly loud, and these have been a real life saver for both of us! They don't block out sound entirely, but they just about have when put in correctly. I will never go back to drugstore ear plugs again!Update 6/27/17: This second box I received had really horrible quality ear plugs. All the bags had no air in them, so the plugs themselves were squished. I was getting hardly any sound protection from them. It was such a disappointing purchase, and I should have returned the shipment.

Plenty soft but they didn't fit right in my wife's ear. She did like them. I ended up trading the box for another model of the same brand that she's used for years. I think these were softer, she just doesn't like change.

I have used these ear plugs for years when using gas powered yard tools, as well as doing shop work. It's certainly worth while to protect your hearing.

Have used a lot of ear plugs in my time but these are noticeably better than any others I have tried. Very comfortable, soft and easy to place. Perfect for my motorcycle.addendum - I still stand by my original review but after wearing them for a long bike (motorbike) ride I found that they are definitely one use only. Once you take them out of your ears they don't re-expand when you put them back in. Still worthwhile to save your hearing but plan on going through many pairs.

Very glade with this purchase. These earplugs are very soft. You might feel a little uncomforted during the first several use, but you won't notice them any more soon. The isolation effect is perfect.
