STEM
As a child I loved the classic book by Virginia Burton, Mike Mulligan and His Steam Shovel, a story about a steam shovel that builds canal, but has to make way for new machines. In fact, I own copy of the book and I have read it to my children, several times. Moreover, the page with the constructor worker and earth movers reminds me of the Burton’s work, which has inspired me to enter the STEM Field. I have degrees in Physics, Materials Science, and Information Technology. With even more examples of STEM than Mike Mulligan and His Steam Shovel, Teele and Guba’s Exciting Escapades through STEM book will become a classic too and children that read the book will be inspired to enter the STEM field.
