Determine your use first.
If you watch video, position evoMouse and fingers as shown product works as advertised. It takes a while to position unit so fingers can be used correctly. There are a few problems. To use unit you must get used to placing hand in exact same spot each and every time for consistently. Hand and wrist get tired of being in same position. Fingers get tired of being held just so. If hand is moved away from evoMouse for any length of time there is need to go through repeat process of placing hand correctly. The unit needs be on firm, flat level surface (no tilting). If any tilting senors will misinterpret motions. Used a wrist support but that made keeping unneeded fingers out of sensor range difficult. I have pain in fingers with mouse click and keyboard use. Tapping on a counter, desk top makes them hurt worse. (no matter how slight the tap). I placed unit on a pad to help minimize this. Problem with a pad is that the surface yields. This causes unit to move on surface and get out of position and difficulty using correct finger positions. Unit must have clean sensor view. This means I can't keep unit on firm, flat surface and use a pad. Then there is comfort position. I used this on a laptop. The laptop is on a stand near my position. I tried using evoMouse on a firm surface at my side for comfortable use. This didn't work because there was no way to keep unit from moving about without sensor interference. I tried using a variety of objects instead of fingers. The unit sensed fingers only. There were periods of time that unit worked just fine. It would just stop working without apparent reason. I would have to disconnect and reconnect unit to reboot it. I couldn't identify reason unit stopped working. It would stop working in the middle of something as often as go into apparent standby mode when not used.

Awesome until it dies (updated)
I purchased my evoMouse from a different retailer that doesn't have reviews so wanted people to know what I experienced which appears to be the same as two other reviewers. If I would have written this review 2 wks ago I would have given it 4 stars because although once you do get used to it I still had some frustrations but over it was a pretty cool little mouse.I guess I was a bit more fortunate that the other reviewers where there's died not too long after purchased. Mine lasted around a year and was doing just fine until I went to use it and nothing was happening. Just like the other reviewers, my computer acknowledges a USB device was plugged in and the lights on the evoMouse work just fine but no mouse movement on my screen. The unit is so basic that it has its own drivers so there's not really any other trouble shooting you can do. Tried researching online and other than the reviews here I can't find any other comments. Problem is that this runs $70+ which is expensive for a mouse and then it doesn't last much more than a year. I also have had the same absent experience with their customer service which is just some guy you send an email to not "[email protected]". Told him that there are some reviews out there that the customer service sucks so not expecting anything other than the satisfaction that I told him the product sucks.Even though it's pretty cool it comes with a BUYER BEWARE caveat that it might not last leaving you mouseless and out $70+.So while it works and once you get used to using it, it's a pretty cool piece of technology essentially creating any flat surface into a touchpad. Scrolling was kind of slow but this is a second mouse used for ergonomic purposes so just used the other mouse for scrolling. I also have their keyboard so kinda wondering how long that one will last.UPDATE: I did receive a response from their customer service about a week after I posted this apologizing for the delay which they said was due to moving to a new location and asking forgiveness. I then received another email requesting a "digital receipt" with a RMA#. Problem was that it's over a year old and that receipt is long gone. Policy is policy so figured I was outta luck but they told me that even though the digital receipt is part of their policy that my satisfaction was most important (this was after some bitching about it). Unit arrived today and I'm now back in business. So the only "Buyer Beware" remaining is to keep the receipt. Other than that they bent over backwards for my satisfaction even if they were consistently slow in responding. Later comments were made about being in a major product launch. There is such a thing as Auto responders that can state such things. Helps to temper people's patience when they have a reason for a delayed reply. I'd give it 5 stars if not for that.Update Addendum: When conversing with them via email they mentioned that they were going to diagnose the unit for the failure cause. Like I said, this is a pretty basic unit so what could go wrong? Being a techy who has worked on technology and thinking this through, why would the unit be detected by my computer and the white lights are illuminated yet it won't work? Only one more piece to that puzzle is that there is an infrared light that does the "magic". If that burned out, there is nothing to tell the mouse how to move, yet you the user would never know because the infrared frequency is not within the range of human vision. I used to shut my computer off every night but over the past couple of years have been leaving on 24/7. On a hunch, I've now reverted back to shutting it off each night. If you don't want to shut off your computer each night then I'd suggest shutting off the unit. There is a power button on it but sometimes when turning it back on it gets funky so I'd recommend disconnecting it. Because my previous one lasted a year before failing it's going to be awhile before this "test"bears itself out but worth it because there's not much more that could have gone wrong because as a general rule the circuitry inside should not fail.

Great for Work Bench
This mouse worked perfectly right out of the box. I have mine at my office desk and I love using it to navigate web pages. The forward and backward commands are very responsive.I've also used the mouse with 3D CAD software which works relatively well. The right click is very simple to use, but there is no easy way to rotate a 3D model without a middle mouse button.I plan to bring this mouse home for my work bench to have have a way of controlling the computer without soiling any hardware with my dirty hands.

Works until it doesn't
Received this as a gift for Christmas. Took me a couple hours to master it, but it worked very well. The scroll function is much more tedious than a mouse wheel, so it's not very good t if you're scolling through long websites or documents with it. Much less stressful on the hand and wrist than a normal mouse. I would have given this review 4 stars back in Feb or Mar. So why only 1? My evomouse stopped working after about 3 months of use, computer still recognized it and the eyes lit up, but the sensor no longer tracked movement. Reaching out to support did not even garner the courtesy of a reply, much less any sort of resolution. So in a nutshell, it does what it says it will do, but don't expect anything other than a paperweight if it stops working.

Good Until It Breaks
I bought this simply for the novelty of a wireless touchpad, since I found a good deal for it. I figured it could come in handy for use with my laptop as well, but I rarely use that for anything other than school. Over all, if this had not broken within a month of purchase, I would be very happy with it. As of now, as a previous review states, my computer recognizes the device just like it always did, the lights on it come on, but tracking simply doesn't work. I am severely disappointed that I, as well as another reviewer, had problems with this so quickly.
