Buck Small Pursuit

The media could not be loaded. I typically favor large-form sheath knives due to their greater versatility for utility and camp/field applications, but I also generally carry a pocket knife. So, when I found a high-quality, small-form fixed blade that I could pocket carry, I was ecstatic.Buck has long been a leader in quality, and what they can do with 420HC steel is legendary. Finding a USA-made knife at that price blew me away. Unfortunately, I had an issue with the knife's delivery, so I had to buy one elsewhere. But it's the same knife and worthy of adding to your collection.It's available in two sizes (large and small). I chose the small version with its hollow-ground, drop-clip point, full-tang 3.75" long blade. The spine thickness is 0.11" (2.8mm), with multiple jimping spots along the blade. It has a slightly rounded spine, so no fire steel use (without grinding), but I have plenty of others that fill that need. The GRN handle is small, so those with larger hands may find it harder to hold. But it's designed for finer tasks, so the smaller size is not an issue for me.I'm usually not a fan of Cordura sheaths, but this one is thick, well-made, and perfect for the knife. At 3.3 oz. for the knife and sheath, I wouldn't want anything heavier. It perfectly fitted one of my 4" blade leather sheaths, but even if I wear this on my belt, the nylon sheath is more than adequate.The flawlessly finished blade was hair-shaving sharp out of the box (like all Buck knives). It easily push-cut a paper towel! I tested it on a variety of materials, including paracord, jute rope, rubber mat, cork, and cardboard. It also made quick work of food prep, effortlessly slicing a tomato and cucumber, as well as beef and chicken.This Buck Small Pursuit is a great small knife, so I'm also considering buying the large version. It's also available in a Pro version of S35VN steel at a significantly higher price, but the 420HC should be more than adequate for my needs. I highly recommend it!

This is a nice, well made knife but the handle is too small. It also tapers towards the bottom of the handle which makes it feel even smaller. I was fine with the blade length. Definitely wish I’d have gone with the large instead.

There's nothing better than a Buck. The Bos heat-treatment is truly something that matters, giving 420HC edge retention that can compare to some "super steels"!I also have their S35VN versions (Buck Pursuit Pro 4.5" ordered from Amazon, didn't show up, got a refund & went to Buck's website lol) & Pro 3.75", all are amazing. You can't go wrong with a Buck Pursuit.

Das Messer ist nichts für große Hände. Es geht in einer normalen Männerhand unter und lässt sich daher nicht gut greifen. Der Griff ist winzig.
