Untamed (Thoughtless Book 5)

Get ready for a wild ride!
“Everything I’d once had… is everything I want.” Why couldn’t I have realized that sooner?"I think DBag fans everywhere rejoiced when the news came out that Griffin was getting his own book! Fans of the Thoughtless series likely either loved or hated Griffin, or at the very least was fascinated by him. He’s definitely one of a kind and I knew that any time in his headspace was going to be a wild ride. And I can say now having finished this book that it lived up to or exceeded every expectation I had for what life with Griffin would be like. S.C. Stephens totally nailed his POV in this book, I can only imagine what it must have been like to live in Griffin’s head while writing this! It couldn’t have been easy because he can definitely be overwhelming and sometimes he’ll make you a little dizzy with his thought process or random musings. But it was exactly how I pictured Griffin to be and the journey he went on in this book will take you on an emotional rollercoaster as we see that the grass isn’t necessarily greener on the other side and sometimes you have to lose everything to realize how much you actually had.‘I was awesome wrapped in awesome smothered in more awesome.’The book is told entirely from Griffin’s POV, which as I said earlier, can be a bit overwhelming at times but it was completely perfect for telling this story and you really get to live his evolution over the course of this book. If you read the other books in the series you know that Griffin is a larger than life personality, he was born to be a star, he’s had a good life and is riding high on the success of the DBags. He’s got the love of his life (and seriously the perfect match for him) and his growing family by his side. What more could he possibly want? Well Griffin, being Griffin, believes that his star shines too brightly to be stuffed in the back on bass and he longs to have a bigger slice of the spotlight. But each time he brings this up to his bandmates he’s shot down every time.“You hold you down. Your pride, your ego, your refusal to dig deeper and do the hard labor. That’s what holds you down. The only person you can blame here, Griffin, is you.”Known for goofing off more than actually working hard, the band doesn’t think it’s a good idea to shake things up. I can totally see where they’re coming from, but in Griffin’s mind they’re just holding him back. The man had an ego the size of Texas and he couldn’t believe that they didn’t see his awesomeness the way he saw it. This continual rejection begins to eat away at him and starts to create a rift between him and the other guys. So it’s no surprise that one drunken night when he’s made an offer that’ll supposedly make him a star, he doesn’t hesitate to sign on the dotted line.‘I’d been handed fame on a platter and hadn’t appreciated it until it was too late. Story of my life.’From here we get to witness his downward spiral as he makes poor decision after poor decision. There are red flags and warning bells all over the place as things unfold but Griffin, blinded by the perception of his own awesomeness, is completely clueless. There are so may cringe worthy moments or moments where you want to smack some sense into him, but it’s sort of like a train wreck that you just can’t turn away from. As things really begin to spiral out of control, he’s faced with the very real chance of losing everything and everyone he’s ever loved.“That’s not true. I do need you… you’re all I need. All I’ve ever needed. I was… lost without you.”Anna smiled, and I felt the warmth from it inside the deepest parts of me. She was all I needed. “I finally feel like that’s true,” she told me.It’s not always comfortable to read, and for most of the time it’s really hard to sympathize with him because really everything that happened to him was 100% his own doing but you’re still going to root for him to find his way back. There really was a lot of growth for his character in this book and it was great to witness his evolution. We also got to see a whole other side to Anna and it gave me a whole new respect for her character. She was way more mature than I gave her credit for and she demonstrated again and again why she’s the perfect match for Griffin. And while this isn’t your typical romance, being that he already had the girl when this started, there was still plenty of romance and in fact I think that the growth in their relationship was one of my favorite parts of the story. Not to mention that the chemistry between Griffin and Anna was as always, off the charts! We also got to catch up with all of the other assorted DBags and their ladies. Kellan was amazing as usual, and you’ll probably end up loving him even more by the end of this book. Matt was still his serious, no nonsense self, and that will play a big part in this story. In addition to Kellan/Kiera, Matt/Rachel, and Evan/Jenny we also were able to meet Griffin’s siblings and his parents. I loved his relationship with his sister, Chelsey, she was the much needed voice of wisdom and I am glad that Griffin had her (even if he didn’t always listen to her). And I loved seeing how the relationship between Griffin and his brother Liam evolved over the course of the story. This book will take you to the highest highs and lowest lows, but it’s definitely a ride worth taking! I loved how everything came together and was completely satisfied by the ending! The epilogue was the perfect way to wrap everything up! This is a must read for any fans of the Thoughtless series!!'What a f'ing fool I’d been, and how blessed I was to be given another chance.'

Hilarious, many laugh out loud moments, emotional yet totally Griffin
Untamed (Thoughtless #4) by SC Stephens4 stars!!“Nobody put the Hulk in the corner. Nobody.”So, Griffin Hancock finally got his voice. Throughout the Thoughtless Series Griffin was always a bit of a love him or hate him character. He is cocky, arrogant, self-assured and let’s be honest, a little bit extremely crass. His language was colourful at best, jam packed with sexual innuendo and he constantly had that holier than thou opinion of himself, he was a rock god and that was the be all and all. He was greatness personified…until he wasn’t.“I was such a good lay, even I wanted to sleep with me.”What SC Stephens delivered with Untamed is a huge dose of humility and unfortunately Griffin was on the receiving end. Sometimes people get so self-absorbed they have trouble seeing the bigger picture. Truths become hidden as we really do not want to see them and especially admit them and it is this that can only cause trouble.Griffin was all about outside appearances, he had the huge house, the flashiest cars, he had that rock star personality but behind closed doors he was an attentive husband and a fantastic dad and it is this side to his character that only his direct family see. Griffin and Anna together were smoking and their relationship was as explosive as it was endearing, but when Griffin is around his daughter, this is when the biggest change happens, he becomes a soppy puppy, only too happy to roll over and have his belly tickled if it made his daughter smile. He was an amazing dad, a tad over-protective but let’s be honest, Griffin never does anything by half measures. It’s all in or nothing.I must admit, at times Griffin was extremely annoying, but to an extent I could understand his frustrations, but as he was forever the joker I could understand the bands reticence to give him what he wanted. However, Matt, throughout this book really grated on every last nerve I had, he was so sanctimonious, so dismissive and at times down right rude that I could have easily punched him in the face myself. This was a side to Matt that I didn’t like, not one little bit.“I didn’t though, which made me appreciate myself even more. The guys should really give me more credit for all the s*** I didn’t do. If they only knew how many awesome ideas I passed on, they’d be truly impressed by my self-control.”Throughout this book I had tears of laughter, I mean, this is Griffin Hancock (a.k.a. Hulk) (a.k.a. Han Solo). His sense of humour was prevalent throughout this book and he had me in stitches, I found myself laughing at the most inopportune moments, but so vivid were the scenes I could actually picture him spouting his hilarious dialogue. I also had a fair few tears of sadness too, so the emotional rollercoaster that SC Stephens takes you on, really hit me hard, but sometimes you have to be cruel to be kind.“You hurt them when you left. No, more than that…you crushed them.”This is definitely not a story; this was a journey. Griffin has a lot to learn and unfortunately he learns it the hard way, sometimes you have to lose everything to appreciate what you had, you have to see that actually the grass isn’t greener on the other side and sometimes people need to experience it rather than just fantasise about it.“You told me once that ever since you were little you wanted to be a rock star. You made it. You’re there. Why would you want to throw away your childhood dream?”SC Stephens really nailed Griffin’s POV, he must have been a fun character to get inside the head of and SC Stephens really brought this exuberant character to life on the page. The whole book is Griffin’s POV and I have to say I loved every single word. The epilogue was to die for and really wrapped up everything in a neat little bow.So, if you want a good laugh and a good cry, this is an ideal read. After all, Griffin is the biggest D in the D-Bags!!

Thank goodness for OCD!
If my OCD would have let me, I would have tossed this one aside. Griffin's cocky, arrogant self brought true meaning to D-bag. It took me 2wk just to get half way. Just when I was about to give up regardless, the story shifted and captivated me. I love how humble Griffin became. I'm definitely glad I finished the book.

Mil estrelas 🌟 🌟🌟🌟🌟

You will end up being a true Griffin fan..!!
Well I really liked it, once you got over all the awesomeness it was fine I just went with it after all this is Griffin were talking about. This brilliant series started back in 2012 with Thoughtless which I will never forget because it was a story that tied you up in knots, we fell in love with all the characters and it was the start of a brilliant storyline that continued through 4 more books the only negative thing was the wait between each book but it's was always worth it.Griffin is a larger than life character we knew all about his self indulgence, his most of the time crude personality and sexual innuendos but we never really knew what was going on in that head of his but Untamed gave us that In more ways than one.Untamed built nicely then all of a sudden I thought this is getting really good, it was about the 40% mark it defiantly went up a notch, cracks were starting to appear, all was not what it seemed the writing was on the wall, we could see that but Griffin couldn't or more to the point wouldn't.Griffins pride got in the way and so the lies and deceit started along with holding back the truth from Anna he was creating a situation that he couldn't seem to get out of all because of certain circumstances and I found myself wanting and waiting for Anna to find out, by this time I was totally gripped. The situation between Griffin and The D-Bags was awful even though it was all Griffins doing Matt didn't help it was very sad all that history between them gone, it defiantly pulled at your heartstrings, it was only Kellan that stayed a little loyal.Once Anna became aware of just what Griffin had been hiding from her, reality hit, it caused a massive strain on their relationship and Griffin hit rock bottom, his stupidity and pride cost him almost everything. As the story continues things get pretty desperate with Griffin, he can't seem to find a way out he's in so much dept, it takes Keira to plant an idea in his head and so from that moment the story is pretty awesome.Griffin had a vision he wanted his moment in the spot light and to be recognised for his talent and for who he really was, he didn't realise he was about to get it, there was a time when nobody wanted him, nobody took him seriously and again that was all his doing but things were about to change.Griffin was a different person circumstances had changed him, he realised how stupid he'd been, what he'd given up all because he felt hard done by and to try and prove a point. The last part of this story is so good, Griffin was brilliant he won everyone round and I loved how Liam was there too, there was no bitterness between them considering they were going after the same thing, all Griffin did was show support.Griffin ended up having his moment after all but it didn't turn out how I thought it would, although I do think it would have been to obvious, so it was Liam but it wasn't over for Griffin.Between the party and Griffin having to ask the boys for help I was in tears, not realising the party was for him.. It was very emotional. What a beautiful ending, Griffin got what he thought he'd never have again and more.. Fantastic awesome epilogue by the way..!!Looking forward to Furious Rush..!!Thank you S.C. Stephens.!

A book too far for me sorry.
I was really looking forward to reading this book about Griffin but I was so disappointed I wish I had just kept my view of him from the much loved Thoughtless trilogy and the much loved S.C. Stephens. We all know Griffin was a bit out there, a bit rude and crude, and a lot dippy, but he was sometimes quite funny, but the beginning of this book turned him into someone I didn't recognise at all. He was always a bit selfish but now he was nasty egotistic, jealous, hurtful, deluded by his awesomeness!! god I got fed up hearing how awesome he thought he was. Sorry Ms Stephens but would anyone really be that stupid to give up all he had to grab something he knew nothing about or didn't even read a contract, it was just a bit too daft for me to be believable, because Griffin liked fame but he became ridiculous. I got quite bored and wanted to give up on many occasions, then about two thirds of the way through the book he suddenly wakes up and somehow changes personality to another person we didn't know but at least things improved slightly, and then for a while he was almost saintlike until the end few pages where his original personality turned up again. Was just bored with this quite expensive book which I brought paperback as I wanted to pass it on to my daughter but not going to bother. Maybe Griffin should have been left where he was at the end of the Thoughtless series a pleasant memory, this was just 1 book too many for me.

the quirky life of Griffin and Anna
Ever since I finally got my but around to reading thoughtless I devoured that and the rest of the series. I loved how naughty Griffing was, he always made me chuckle so when we were getting Untamed I was thinking OMG what is he going to do nest!!His story was certainly not what I was expecting and I took a long time to actually get into it.I thought he as a whiny, egotistical, self centered selfish jerk. Sorry if I offend anyone reading this, but I really struggled getting through the first third of this book.I absolutely loved how he was with Anna and Gibson, melted some of my icy heart. He as behaving very childish with Kellan, Matt and Evan, and if I am honest they were being quite hard on him too.I did love how supportive Anna was but she was totally blinkered, especially not questioning him often. He so quickly lost everything and whilst part of me was 'serves you right' I did feel for Anna and the kids. He totally redeemed himself, when he started working on getting himself out of the vortex he had created for himself. Anna did the only thing she could and Griffin really impressed me by not being his old D-Bag self and NOT having./using sex as a distraction.Gotta love Kiera, going to see him when he was rat rock bottom, giving him the heads up about the up coming reality program.Griffin started staking full responsibility for his actions, and began working his ass off and keeping his head down to prove not only to himself but the the band and its fans and critics how much he grew up and changed for himself first then for Anna. This really was about having a second chance at Love and Lie.I did love their naughty sexy times... the art gallery (hilarious!) the schmoozing LA Networking gigs, and MY favorite On the Stage. Only fitting that Linken was a by product of that union.

If you loved thoughtless you will be disappointed
Let me start with saying I loved loved loved the first 3 books in the thoughtless series. I adored Kellan's and Kiera's story and could not put the books down. So understandably I was so excited to read this book and see how the Dbags future unfolded and looked forward to a new character. So the book.... It took me a while to get into the story and if I'm honest I was bored of reading it rather quickly - which surprised me! I genuinely felt it would get better and continued reading but it didn't. The story was bland with no substance, I felt it was unbelievable and almost cringeworthy at times....I had to resist the urge to stop reading it to be honest. I hate to give this book a bad review as I loved the series so much up until now but it has tarnished it somewhat for me as it was so poorly written and thought out. So in my option, do not read it, enjoy how reckless ended and you won't be left as disappointed as I was.
