Complete Ear Cleaning Kit That Works Well (Just Takes a Little Practice)
I picked up the Tilcare ear wax removal tool because I wanted something more effective than cotton swabs, and overall it’s been a pretty solid at-home solution. What stands out right away is that it’s a full kit, not just a single tool. You get a spray bottle, basin, syringe, and small cleaning tools, which makes it feel more like a complete system rather than a quick fix. Once you get the hang of it, the irrigation system works well. It helps flush out buildup gently, and I’ve noticed a difference compared to just using drops or basic cleaners. It feels more thorough without being overly harsh when used properly. That said, there’s definitely a learning curve. The first time using it can feel a bit awkward, and you’ll want to follow the instructions carefully (especially with water temperature and pressure). After a couple of uses, it becomes much easier and more comfortable. The build quality is decent—nothing fancy, but everything feels functional and holds up with normal use. The disposable tips are also a nice touch for hygiene. One thing to keep in mind is that this isn’t something you want to rush. Taking your time makes a big difference in how effective and comfortable it is. Overall, this is a practical and effective kit if you want a more thorough at-home ear cleaning option. It takes a little practice, but once you get used to it, it does the job well and feels like a worthwhile upgrade from basic methods.

Easy to use, effective, well priced
First off I will say I am a retired registered nurse who has done a good number of ear irrigations over the years. I found this kit to be easy to use and effective for ear wax removal. I was surprised by all the pieces of equipment it contained and the reasonable price. I would caution that anyone with a damaged eardrum, tubes in their ears, infection or other ear problems should check with their doctor before using it. I also would be cautious about using the metal instrument in this kit as they could cause some serious damage in unskilled hands. There are several methods for ear irrigation, but the one that I use is to obtain a bottle of generic ear wax removal oil, warm the bottle of oil by placing it in a dish of warm water for a few minutes (cold ear drops can sometimes cause nausea and dizziness). I put approximately 3 drops of the warmed oil into the ear and place a piece of cotton into the ear canal so the oil doesn’t run out, then I repeat the procedure for the other ear. I wait at least an hour (or longer if there is severe wax build up) so the warmed oil has a chance to soften the ear wax somewhat. Then I remove the cotton balls, pull the earlobe to straighten the ear canal somewhat and use a pen light or flash light to look into the ear canal to see where and how much blockage there is so I’ll know if the irrigation later is actually breaking up the ear wax. I fill the irrigation spray bottle with warm (not hot) tap water and use the flexible tube with tip and round splash guard. Use of the flexible tube tip requires two hands, one to hold and spray the bottle and one to hold the tip in the ear canal, but a person doing the irrigation on themself might find the solid rod type tip easier to use since you don’t need to hold the tip in the ear canal with a separate hand. I have my subject hold the cup under the ear, place a towel over the shoulder to catch any drips, and pump the spray bottle multiple times. It is important not to totally block the ear canal with the spray nozzle as the used water and wax needs to have a path to flow out of the ear canal as fresh water enters. It usually takes a number of pumps, but usually there will be small pieces of ear wax flowing into the cup. It probably will not be the main ear wax plug, however. I take a pen light or flash light and look in the ear and can usually tell if I am making progress. Then I just continue irrigating the ear canal and checking it periodically until it appears clean and unblocked which can take quite a bit of irrigating. Sometimes a large part of the ear wax plug remains intact and just moves closer to the entrance of the ear canal and can be easily seen. The fluid stream from the spray bottle isn’t always strong enough to wash it out. That’s when I find one of the metal instruments like the ear spoon may be helpful to carefully remove the plug if it’s lodged near the entry to the ear canal. If you have gone through the whole cleaning procedure and feel you haven’t been successful, it may be helpful to repeat the the ear wax oil instillation/cotton balls part and leave it in overnight, then try the irrigation again the next day. If that still doesn’t work, it is likely time to see a medical professional for some help. This is just the method I have found useful, but there are other methods using different irrigation solutions and different techniques. Bottom line, I would recommend this kit. It is easy to use, I found it effective in removing significant ear wax blockages, and I thought it was well priced.

Money saver and very effective
This thing has paid for itself a thousand times over. I had to take my kid to the dr for an ear issue and found it drains and builds up wax quickly. All she needed was flushing. Walking out after a 312 bill, I researched and found this. Saving me over $300 each time we use it and we do it weekly. I purchased the 1st one in 2020. I just had to replace it this year. You do the math. It is easy to use. Comes with multiple tip replacements. Lasted 5 years. And it works really well, letting you direct the spray via the tip having a slight angle to it.

Great tool
Great tool. It helped remove ear wax. Warm water or slight hot (~104F) helps remove built up wax easily. Only downside is the plastic bottle deforms easily on adding hot (104F) water. Quantity of the bottle is insufficient, I had to fill it up 4 times to get the job done. The spoons are too short to handle.

Saved my sanity!!
I have issues with excessive earwax and have had to get my ears flushed for years because of muffled hearing from washing my hair or showering. To avoid needing to book a doctor's appointment for a simple task, I tried this and it worked perfectly! The key is to use really warm (not hot!) water and gently spray the water into your ear slowly. You need to do this over a sink because water may spray on your clothes unless you are careful to do it slowly. It took me a few tries to break up the wax but I am so happy to have saved money visiting my doctor. You don't notice how valuable hearing is until you have a problem with your ears!

Removes Ear Taters
Works really well. Follow the directions and it makes the process easy. All the equipment that comes in the kit are really nice. There's no pain unless you have like a serious condition which needs medical attention. Used this on one of our elder family members, said it was a great experience and could hear better. Used this on one of our younger family members, no issues but be ready to see a tater or two roll out.

First time leaving an Amazon review, but I am happy. Sore, felt swollen inside ear started a month ago, got sorer. Tried olive oil drops, some wax removed, but not much. Tried Optex Express, more wax removed but not loads. Had confirmed at doctors definitely 100% blocked with wax. Long NHS waiting list or £55 at Specsavers. Second session with the spray kit (once daily) and the Optex first for ten minutes and a ear ball earring came out with wax. Cause found! So happy - instant relief and hearing back. I think plenty of wax to come but I feel the cause was found - see photo.
