Minimalist quick release skewers
I bought a set of these just as a test without really expecting to like or use them. But I found them to be well made, thoughtfully designed and effective. I bought a road set for an older bike with 126mm rear spacing with thick aluminum dropouts and they fit just fine. It’s easy to achieve a repeatable amount to torque using a short 5mm Allen wrench I keep on the bike. They consist of a very long 5mm socket head cap screw that makes up the skewer, an aluminum washer / bearing component with radial serrations to grip the dropout, and essentially a nut on the other end with similar radial serrations and a thoughtful insert to act as a thread locking device, very much like a nylock hex nut. They’re clean, simple, thoughtfully designed and effective. I bought one pair in black and a second pair in silver. I like their minimalist design and the ability to achieve repeatable torque by feel when hand tightening them. And at $10 for a set you can’t go wrong.

So far,so good.
I needed a slightly longer skewer than the standard 100mm, and took a chance with these. As you can see, the threads just make it fully engaged through the nut on the Sun Tour fork. I torqued this to 4Nm based on the Rufus inquiry I did; I don't know if that is correct. I would have appreciated the manufacturer's recommendation on torque. I've tried a couple short rides with no loosening. I'm going to keep an eye on it. They seem to center-up nicely on the forks, with no rubbing on the disk brakes.

Cheap with great look and fitment.
Love these skewers! Cheap and as I had hoped short on fit Juiced CrossCurrent X commuter, and longer one fit RipCurrent S fat tire bike. Work and look great. Would've preferred security torx, but these were cheap and I wasn't sure on fitment ahead of time. One extra layer of security!

Needs loctite!
Looks great. Easy to install. Came loose on my very first ride. Unlike a normal quick release, there is no cam mechanism to keep it tight. Added a dab of blue loctite and it hasn’t come loose again but still able to be loosened with the Allen wrench. 1/16/2023 - update. Have given up. Even with loctite, it keeps coming loose. I have put the regular QR skewers back and tossed this out.

Works Great.
Works great, and bolts on with a hex key much more securely than a normal quick-release skewer.

Red Axel Fasteners for Mountain Bicycle
These are a really great product. I like the Allen wrench sockets. They are a more permanent attachment compared with the lever type.

Great value
Almost a year in and no issues. They work great and look good too. Good price

Don't buy, poor quality materials.
Very unsafe product. The threads stripped with less than 4nm of torque.

Beware, the rear skewer is 5mm short of being usable for 135mm rear hubs. So 'road' here means the old 130mm rim brake standard, unless you have unusually thin (e.g. steel) drop-outs.

I don't know who's idea it was to put quick release axles on bike wheels, but it was not a good idea. I've always carried an extra long cable lock to prevent my wheels from being stolen when I lock my bike up. This upgrade has helped to alleviate that fear. The skewers fit perfectly, and will make it much harder for any would-be thieves to steal my wheels.

Good quality and fit, made my Son's bike a lot safer after changing the 'quick release' version that came on the bike. Unless a thief happens to travel about with tools, it will be harder to randomly steal a wheel or two!
