They worked worse than expected but they work. Low impact rigid plastic. I was not expecting much. Because the kids are young enough they make noise and it was good enough for them. If you are looking for a cheap toy and it doesn't really matter because its just to play with this is your toy.

it only could work 11 feet. can't return now that it was a christmas gift and we had to wait till family came in janurary from military service.

They had to be returned because the light wouldn't turn on on one and the other one didn't work at all. I got a refund but they were a birthday present for my grandson:(
