BACKGROUND:My cat, whenever he is hungry, has decided biting straight any thin cords lying in his wake are for chewing and attention seeking. That's on me. However it has lead me to replace MANY cords in my home. Specifically the cord that I use for my Skullcandy Skullcrusher headphones. This is my most recent replacement of the cord.PERFORMANCE?They work. Sometimes. They fit into the deep auxiliary slot which requires those extra slime plugs. I would have given this product 5/5 if, within 30 minutes of operation, the sound because hazy and distant. As if there was a break in the cord. After much fiddling it would seem, the piece right above the red line on the plastic part of the jack, that the wire is defective. It has to be locked in a "special" position for the cord to function fully. This is reminiscent of someone keeping the rubber bits above the red line bent for an extended period.Something that has happened to my other cords after many years of use.I COULD send the cord back and claim it defective because it doesn't work properly. However that would leave me, for some period of time, without a cord for these headphones. I ordered the cord online because I couldn't find a cord that fit the deep groove slot on the headphones in any local store.REFLECTIONWould not buy again. If this cord dies I'm going to be ordering another cord straight from SkullCandy this time. You get what you pay for.
