Affordable system that offers bi-amping, and the ability to source music from pretty much anything.
Like:* Sound quality - so much better than my other Denon system that's more than twice the price.* Ability to connect to local music server, streaming services e.g. Spotify, amazon music etc., Bluetooth for phone streaming, internet radio... and it has a CD player (if you remember those).* Sub woofer out*Can act as a 2.1 surround system with your TV via sp/dif optical input (you'll need a subwoofer though) - nice that it detects when you turn the TV on and goes into the right mode*Offers true bi-amping (!!!), bi-wiring, and basic connectionDislike:It's not built like a tank - a bit plasticy (I guess they spent the money on the sound quality)

Buy this, you will not regret it
I used to own a full separates based system. I utilised the speakers from that system, and ... wow ! The online reviews are correct about the sound quality, for the money, this is excellent. Streaming amazon music, cd player, optical input from TV, Bluetooth from my phone AND dab radio all in one package.Marantz amplifiers have a good reputation, and this just confirms it to me. Easy to set up as wellMuch better than my previous bluesound node 2, clearer, and more dynamicsI would recommend this to anyone

Nice unit but please Marantz stop this pointless penny pinching
So far over the years i've had a CR603, CR611, and now this CR612.I purchased this after my CR603 "died" after reporting an overcurrent condition (blinking red light when you power up).I opened the new CR612 up and then .. "Why is the front panel USB socket gone ?"The rest of the unit is great, and has a lot of features, and is HEOS compatible. However taking the front USB port away just spoils it. Made to a price and no more. would i recomend it ? , yes i would , but i hate this penny pinching. why not charge £5 more and just put the USB socket on the front panel as it always was.Sound quality seems fine but obviously depeneds on the speakers you use. BT connectivity is a lot better than it was for the CR611 but then it is a few years later in technology . MY CR611 often needed re-pairing withjj an Iphone. The CR612 seems veyry quick and reliable. The TuneIn application seems to be limited to the UK and a few European countries but i was able to connect to it from the phone app , and that offeered the "full" selection. Spotify worked fine. Maybe i did somethiogn wrong here.?

Quality
For me it was a major investment but certainly up to now I'm more than happy.I was sceptical that my aging hearing would struggle to appreciate or identify how good this Marantz actually is,but it is!!I've paired it with quality speakers and I can't speak highly enough.

Excellent all-in-one HiFi system with superb sound
I've been extremely pleased with the Marantz Melody X. The sound quality is excellent, with plenty of clarity and detail, but also enough power to comfortably fill a good-sized room. Music sounds noticeably richer than it does through the more basic wireless speakers I've used. One of the things I particularly like is how much is packed into a relatively compact unit. Having the CD player, DAB+ radio, Bluetooth and music streaming all together means I can listen to pretty much anything without needing several separate pieces of equipment.Bluetooth connectivity has been reliable and straightforward, and switching between different sources is easy. The CD player is also a real bonus as I still have a sizeable CD collection and wanted something that would allow me to continue using it while also having modern streaming options.Build quality is what I would expect from Marantz. It feels substantial and well made, and it looks smart without being overly complicated. If you're looking for a quality HiFi system that combines traditional CD and radio listening with modern wireless streaming, this is an excellent choice. I've been very happy with mine and would definitely recommend it.

Nice unit but concerned about reliability and endurance.
After about eight months of light used noting a constant electronic new burning in smell, the unit starts to get errors recalling its configuration when it was powered off using Wi-Fi and auto standby settings even a factory reset wouldn’t reinitiate the Wi-Fi. Combined with the loss of the non-volatile memory settings and the unit running a higher a normal temperature on home to return the unit. I have ordered a replacement so I still think it’s a great unit and I hope this is the one off failure. They seen reviews about voltage regulation on them, I fear it might be a manufacturing design fault in this unit version I have.

Mirantz DAB radio
This is a very good internet unit and lots to choose from for the price expensive and you have to supply your on speakers at an extra cost its very good sounding and set up can be a little tricky

Happy after a dicey start
I had trouble initially getting the device to play wirelessly through Denon HEOS speaker and was concerned that the fact that the unit shipped from Amazon UK might be the reason. I was very impressed with Denons online support advice who were helping over a number of days as I tried to solve it and I have now done so. The price for this CD receiver via Amazon was so much better than anywhere else that I was going accept it as a good buy even if I didn’t solve the issue but am very happy now that’s it’s all going well

Disappointed with Sound quality
Distinction between bass and treble is kind of muddled ,I guess this amp is too digital. Its like playing mp3 format all the time
