Split sole canvas ballet flat with pre sewn elastic straps and wide flat elastic in place of binding and drawstring. Review: Amazing shoe! - I had foot surgery for a bunion so I have a large scar across the top of my foot that can be sensitive still. As soon as I was able to start dancing again I was using my Sasha canvas shoes that I've been dancing in for years but found that my foot was now much more sensitive and unstable. Having the full elastic band around the top of this shoe is much more comfortable than the thin string, and its structured better at the bottom of the foot so you don't feel any bunching when on releve- a problem I was having in the old shoes. I am dancing much much better now that I have these shoes, simply because they are so much more comfortable for me. The sizing can be a bit difficult though, I usually wear a 6.5-7 and I ordered a 5D because I did not want them to be too small or too tight. I probably could have gone down a size as they don't fit as tight as my shoes used to but that probably helps with the comfort level as well. Review: They work for me! - I’m a size 6 on regular shoe and I got a size 3.5 narrow (because my feet are narrow of course) and it fit perfectly! They hug my feet perfectly, the straps will be kind of tight (which can be a downer) at first specially when you’re not on relevé but as you use them they’ll stretch out. ‘To me’ it had a pointe shoe feeling and I quite liked that. I had other flats that literally fit a tad big/loose and not only was it dangerous but it would mess up my turns and it made my feet look ugly so for safety (and also looks lol) just make sure the shoe is nice and snug on your feet. I’ve been using these for around 7 months now and I’ve never had them pop out of my heel so great shoe!

Sizing suggestion
My daughter hasn’t worn these in class yet, I will update my review if there is any issue with quality in the months to come. In regards to sizing, my 11 year old daughter is a size 3 in children’s shoes. After a fair amount of research, I decided to purchase her a womens 3 in this shoe. First, I converted her childrens size to a womens by adding 2 (3+2=5), making her a womens 5. These shoes aren’t measured in US sizing, so it is recommended that you size down 2 whole sizes. Therefore, I purchased her a womens size 3. They fit perfectly. There is just a small bit of room in the toe area, which is normal. On first inspection the shoes seem like a good quality, the canvas feels sturdy yet soft.

Good shoes, size down slightly
I went back and forth on sizing based on reviews. I’m a 8.5-9 in regular street shoes so based on the size chart I would have gone with a 7.5 I think. Based on reviews saying to size down (and what was available in the color I wanted), I went with 6.5. The shoes overall don’t fit terribly. They are definitely tight in the toes but the heel is comfortable and I can still move around in them pretty comfortably. In hindsight I would go up to a 7 but I can definitely still wear these for class.

Not bad, but not perfect.
These canvas Bloch's are very well constructed and I thought I had found the perfect ballet slippers for ballet class. However, the toe box length is too short causing them to be uncomforably short of my toes. I wear a size 8 US in most shoes style and sizes. I ordered a 6C in this shoe according to size chart recommendation. They fit great in other areas but toes comfort is crucial. If you really want to canvas over the leather and have longer toes order up a bit from the size chart recommendation. Also, the canvas has very little give so there is not really any stretching to fit with these. If they fit properly in all directions I have not doubt you will be happy with these shoes. Note: I ultimately purchased the leather version. If you are considering or comparing the two, be sure to read my review to those as well.

Buy these! 1 size down worked for me
I LOVE these! I’m nearly always a size 9 off the rack. I bought 8. Fit great. Straps were fine. I do barre with Les Mills at home and I have a low pile area rug, these shoes make the turns so much easier. Highly recommend.

Great ballet shoe.
I wear a size 8 and typically order 8 medium in Bloch ballet flats. I received the 8 C/D and it was way too big. Luckily it was free returns and Amazon shipped out the same day I filed the return claim without waiting for the original order to be returned. The size 7 B fit a tiny bit snug, but it stretched slightly and it's a perfect fit. The elastics came pre-sewn which was great. And the tiny bunch of fabric actually leaves you the room to move and isn't noticeable. The best part is the tiny bit of extra cushion in the soles that helps so much when I'm on my feet for hours dancing or teaching class.

Best Ballet Shoe Ever!
I wear a size 6 street shoe (sneaks, heels, boots, pretty much always a 6) and i did a 4D in this slipper because my feet are a little wide. I never wear a "wide" shoe but my last ballet shoes were a little narrow and never really stretched enough for my liking. The shoe feels AMAZING! It's a little long still, i probably could've gone another size down (making it 3 sizes smaller than my street shoe) but so far it's not SO big that its uncomfortable or looks bad so i'm still going to give it 5 stars. No sew elastics, Thank God!! And the elastic instead of drawstrings, BRILLIANT!!!

I'm so glad I read other reviews before purchasing as these do run larger! They are super comfortable and hug the feet in just the right way. I love how the elastics are already sewn, and how there is no extra elastic around the top of the shoe with a knot or bow to tuck in at the front. It makes for a seamless look, and also less bunching and digging-in, and no worries about the bow accidentally popping out during ballet class! I will definitely order again!
