Great 8” shallow
Much more bass than I hoped for from a shallow 8”. Sounds pretty good for most music. I have it in the stock location in a Ford Edge paired with a sound stream 4000w mini amp. Like I said pretty good, not for a base head but plenty of thump for most people. Personally I like to hear the windows flex. If you want plenty of thump and keep the room in your suv for hauling the kids, dogs and groceries then this is the answer

Shaker 500 Mustang
Put in a 2006 Mustang GT with the shaker 500 system with the stock amp and sounds way better. Needed a little modification in order to fit. You will need to make sure where the stock grill lines up, mark it, and cut off tabs. Also going to need a heat gun to soften plastic and push out with a hammer. Little pricey but worked for our application.

Subwoofer replacement in 4th gen 4runner
Easy to put in 4th Gen 4runner. Red and black wires are the positives. You don't need to remove whole panel like some youtube videos show. There is a smaller panel with in the larger panel that gives you just enough space to change out the subwoofer.

Nice fit and finish
It may the box but the base hits more for rap/hip hop. I was looking for more of a punchier base sound for rock. Works well with factory radio.

Built this for my Toyota Tacoma 2008. Sounds great behind my rear seat.
It’s an 8” subwoofer, set your expectations accordingly. You’re not going to compete against a w7 JL Audio sub. With that said, I love this unit. Good sounding bass considering its size. Sounds better than expected. For those with limited space, this is a good option.

Great replacement for stock JBL subwoofer in 2nd gen Tundra
The foam in my stock "JBL" subwoofer cone finally deteriorated enough that music was almost unplayable in my Tundra, so I went seeking a replacement. Crutchfield actually led me to this speaker, but I thought I would check Amazon to try and get it quicker. Thanks to Jeff Bezos, I had a replacement woofer the next day and was able to swap out the broken JBL with this much more substantially construction Pioneer in about 20 minutes. I was able to use the factory speaker retainer ring and guard, even though the retainer didn't fit perfectly. Audio quality is about the same, maybe a bit better. This obviously isn't a booming system, but I do appreciate having the sealed bass enclosure when listening to music.

bought for my 06 4runner toyota
this fit perfectly and was a plug-in play for my Toyota. I’m super happy with the speaker even though it’s not a super high-quality speaker it’s still sounds amazing and gives you that extra base that you need. there’s an amazing video on YouTube that tells you exactly how to plug and play this and the screws lineup perfectly and it wasn’t more than two hours of labor.

Decent replacement for the JBL OEM
Found a video on YouTube from Toyota and Dodge Garage that was a huge help in removing the interior panel. The old sub surround was dry rotted and needed to be replaced in my 2008 4Runner Sport. I bought this sub due to price and the fact that the mounting holes line up with the original so no extra drilling. The original sub has foam behind the sub mounting frame to seal it, but this sub does not have that. I used caulk, but I would get speaker seal if I did it again. As for performance, the original sub actually went lower, but this Pioneer is a little tighter and cleaner. It's kind of strange, on some songs this sub will provide more bass, but other times it's barely there. Also, volume needs to be higher to get the same bass. I assume the OEM was just more efficient than this one. It's a decent replacement, but if you don't mind drilling holes, one of the other shallow depth subs might be better if you are looking for an actual upgrade.
