Aspects400 Quick-Clean Thistle Tube Feeder, Medium - Brushed Nickel

Very pleased with this feeder. Sturdy, well made, very easy to assemble. In fact, so easy you will not need any instructions to put it together in just a few minutes. Just love, LOVE, how easy it is to clean!. Folks, someone designed this feeder with a lot of thought put into the hassles we, bird lovers, have to put up with while cleaning our bird feeders. I mean, the bottom of the tube just snaps off and snaps on, allowing cleaning the whole assembly with no effort at all. And that's not counting how the feeder is solidly built, unlike others that are just a flimsy plastic tube with a cheap metal cap and bottom, if that much. We filled up our feeder with Nyjer seeds and finches just flocked to the feeder without a second thought. We are so happy with our purchase that we have also ordered the Big Foot tray and the 12 inch dome to go with it. The tray should help keep some of the mess off the ground and the dome ought to help with inclement weather, or so we expect according to the dome manufacturer. We have not gone wrong with trusting the manufacturer as far as the feeder goes, so we expect we will not go wrong with trusting them with our other purchases, either. By the way, this feeder is the 2 3/4 inch feeder; the measurements given on Amazon appear to be for the package as a whole and not for the feeder's true diameter.Addendum: The Aspects 400 has worked so well for me I just ordered a second unit in case I ever need to replace my first unit. Frankly, the Aspects feeder is of solid construction - not just made of some feeble plastic you can squeeze with your hand. The base is an absolute breeze to take off so it can be cleaned. I recommend the larger tray, which attaches easily to the bottom - the dome is OK, but it seemed to sort of scare the finches when I first installed, and it does keep some rain and snow off but just as long as there is no wind to go with it. My evaluation of the dome? Well, it's a toss up; yes, sometimes it works, but sometimes it doesn't, and the birds have to be "convinced" it is not some sort of trap :). Overall, good products.

This “finch feeder” does a great job of dispensing nijer seed and attracting finches and other small birds. I’d suggest a domed cover above the feeder to discourage squirrels. They can have all the suet and seed they can get from the other feeders but seeing the small birds all around the finch feeder is a welcome sight. Had one little guy out there trying out the new feeder before i could get back in the house!

This feeder is amazing, and so easy to clean. My only complaint is that I didn't buy the larger one. My gold finches were using this feeder the first day it was out. Looks as though I will be filling it often. I can not speak to longevity for this brand as I just got it. The quality seems very good and I plan to slowly replace my older feeders with the Aspects brand.

I've purchased several tube feeders over the past 20 years. The Aspects "quick-clean" method is simply awesome and the best I've ever worked with. No more moldy seed being trapped in the bottom, and no more difficulty in trying to clean and sanitize the feeder. I am very satisfied... and I will be purchasing the larger size with more perches on it. This feeder was stacked with goldfinches, pine siskins, and purple finches all winter long. I need a bigger feeding station for next year!

The BEST Nyjer feeder I have had the pleasure to come across

I initially really liked this feeder, because the rain shield is perfect. But I discovered that the birds don't like the feeder. After about two weeks, they just stopped coming to the feeder. Must be something about the way the feeder holes are shaped. I would see a chickadee sitting on the perch, trying to figure out how to get the seeds out. Eventually he would give up a fly away.

The feeder is excellent, but the label on the feeder, from the supplier warehouse to amazon, was very difficult to remove because of heavy adhesive. The labels from Aspects came off easily.

Love this feeder with the quick release bottom. Easy to fill but the slits for feeding are very tiny. Think I will add the plastic pan base to give more birds a chance to feed at the same time.
