WEISS Contrella Oblaten Lebkuchen, 200 GR

A taste from back home. I used to work right around the corner, where they made these delicious thing's. Taste was great, like always.

Love these.

I chose this because I enjoy the taste and softness/chewiness in the cookies. I was brought up with them also like the soups here. I like the chewiness but my dislikes are when they get hard and the fruity tastes of whatever is in them. I recommend these to friends/family.

German holiday cookies are different from those in US. Less sweet, with a unique flavor. I fell in love with them, and this is the best brand they make. Sometimes hard to get here, but worth searching for. They use the same dough, but some are glazed in chocolate, or clear sugar type glaze. Try the assortment.

In this item's description on Amazon Marketplace, there is no list of ingredients provided for this product!I should have known better than to order any food item without knowing what it is made with.I was searching for a similar product to the delicious Weissella brand of lebkuchen (soft gingerbread cookie)that I have always purchased at Trader Joe's during the holiday season & enjoyed greatly.They are dairy/egg-free which suited my vegan diet and they contain no artificial sweeteners.I ended up buying the Weiss Contrella cookies on Amazon Marketplace going by the item's picture which looked almost identical to the Weissella brand cookies.Upon arrival & inspection of the ingredient list, I was greatly disappointed to see that both sorbitol AND whole egg powder were listed!Not only was the addition of egg product a no-go but I can't tolerate sorbitol! Yuck!(why would the manufacturer need to add an artificial sweetener IN ADDITION to the tons of sugar & glucose syrup already in the product, I have to wonder?)Suffice it to say, it was a waste of money for me & a valuable lesson learned....Never buy food products online unless the merchant is completely transparent about listing all the ingredients of what they are selling.I always carefully scrutinize/read product labels when I shop at the market...So why wouldn't I do so in the virtual marketplace?One of my poorer Amazon Marketplace shopping experiences, alas.

I'm glad I can only get these at Christmas because if I could I would order them all year and eat waaaay too many. They are delicious and came just as they were portrayed in a timely fashion.Thanks for the good service and for offering these delicious cookies.Linda

Received product fine, wrapped and shipped so there is no damage to the product. Product a lot smaller than expected, size is a tiny bit larger than a chip ahoy cookie and a little fluffier. I was expecting the a cookie the size of a Schmidt Lebkuchen cookie. my bad for not knowing what 200g is. Would I buy these again, no I would not. .

I LOVE these cookies!! Ended up finding a close imitation at Trader Joe's during the holiday's but these were PERFECT!!
