I’m from Buffalo and this really hits the spot delicious as always more like a Zorbas sauce, but you can get it down to like a Seneca Texas hots sauce With some extra time and a little extra water cooked down To bring down the spice! All the people before me that don’t know how to cook this Follow all the directions for ingredients Set your stove to the lowest setting, literally (the lowest) Boil your water add your ground beef add your bagged ingredients and you’re going to slow cook this sturing every 15 minutes for 5 to 6 hours And you will have thee slime dogs you’ve been dying for since you left home! P.s. Don’t forget your sahlens hotdogs And if your Stuck in the south or as low as Florida like me Publix has them, but only the small packs! 2 bags makes 2 pints And a basket of shoe string fries to dip after! - You’re welcome & GO BILLS!

Is the price higher than you'd pay at a Wegmans in Buffalo? Sure. But when you don't live in Buffalo anymore, you pay what you need to get your fix of hometown food. Anyone who grew up in WNY and loves this sauce already is going to be very pleased with their purchase because it's still the same as when we were kids. People who think this is something from Texas or is just your average restaurant chili dog doesn't get it. Doesn't mean you have to like it, but it's a personal taste thing for sure. This "Texas Hots" sauce recipe goes way back in WNY lore to a hot dog joint that used that name to describe its hot dogs. Many hot dog stands in the area use that description. It's more of a mild Greek-style meat sauce, NOT a spicy Texas chili. I happen to like both kinds of "chili" on dogs, but you have to think if it like a regional choice -- NY style with kraut, or Chicago style with sport peppers, or Buffalo style with meat sauce. Apples and oranges. You are either going to love it or hate it.

Looks OK , I guess? Adding the ground meat is time consuming. I wanted something that was Quick and Easy.

I love chili dogs and usually make my own hotdog sauce. I came across this product while browsing and decided to order. I tried it immediately upon arriving. All I can say is that it’s the most DISGUSTING mix I have ever tasted. It had a very unnatural flavor. I thought I could overcome by adding additional spices (cumin,chili powder) and it went from bad to worst. This deserves a hard pass. Very disappointing.

I missed this stuff! A little too pricy but I needed it on my hot dogs lol.

It’s really not religious but I lived in my most of my life and hot dog stands and restaurants are everywhere so meat sauce makes a difference the only thing is it’s a bit pricey for the pack that only makes a pint

If you're from Western NY, I don't need to say a word, if you're not, then you may not like it. We love it! Been eating it for 35+ years. Nice to get some back home food. Angelica Salt Rising, cheese curd, and Stearns Sauce, is next on the list. Yummy!
