D-Frag! Vol. 14

This is the funniest one so far. The one that comes in second place is the barley tea episode in v 10 (I think). You have to get the hang of the Manzai humor form to really get this. Kenji Kazama, his sister, and his mom all play the straight man. Their comments keep you grounded in normalcy while all the other characters do the weirdest things and for ridiculous motives. The reactions of the rest of the characters (idiots) to events is always so unexpected! That's how the jokes work and what makes it so funny.In this episode, two of the girls (love interest no. 1 and her sister) are staying at Kenji's house because their own was destroyed by a meteorite. Love interest #2 finds an excuse to stay as well, with the help of her mysterious mother who encourages her (which is basically ridiculous). The mother of interest #1 also gets involved, in the strangest possible way. She gets so wound up about having eel for lunch and attaches meaning, that eating eel with Kenji makes him 'part of their family.' This, after she literally dragged Kenji, against his will, to an eel restaurant for lunch. That's pretty much how it goes for Kenji; constantly dragged into crazy situations while his responses are totally what a normal person would think (this is ridiculous!). Except for his mom and sister, he is surrounded by unreasonable idiots.I'm cracking up every other page as I read this. The humor is an acquired taste, sort of like British humor as in Monty Python. So start at the beginning and stick with it. You're going to love this.

Great series. Needs a season 2 .
