The best steamer I've ever owned.
This is simply the best steamer I have ever owned. It is solid and robust. The plastic does not feel flimsy. The glass lid retains heat far better than those domed plastic things ever have. The steam begins to flow instantly. The rectangular shape makes it easier to space food out and by removing the base of one of the upper tiers you can actually fit a large chicken in without it touching the sides. And the 6 egg wells on each tier are actually deep enough that your eggs sit nicely in them without rolling around unlike those narrow and shallow wells on standard steamers. When it comes to cleaning, the fact that each tier base is metal rather than flimsy plastic are far easier to clean as most [if any] residue simply wipes off in hot soapy water without trapping in those divot like diamond formations on the plastic versions. The ONLY side note is that there is a knack to fitting the bases in each tier as neither the plastic walls nor the base plates are very flexible. But you need to sort of push the upper part of the tier inward at the ends wilst prseeing down on the end of the base plate to pop it into the tiny slot. And it is the exact same upper oint that you press inward whist pressing the bottom of the plate to remove it.But this piece of kit is frankly a superb steamer. You can cook not only veggies, but meat, and the rice tray actually cooks the rice properly. I've also experimented with lentils, barley, porridge and even properly pre-soaked beans -which in the cheaper and less robust steamers is simply not doable as they don't retain enough heat to cook the things adequately and evenly. But this Duronic steamer makes easy work of them.I recommend this steamer, it is an absolute dream to use and well worth the money..

Really impressed
This steamer is perfect. We're a family of 2 and sometimes we just need one tray. Being rectangular, it's ideal and much more capacity friendly than a round one. I have had this a few months now and use it religiously. It's easy to dismantle and clean, easy to pop back together and stores neatly inside itself. It's a great addition to my kitchen. So happy I chose Duronic.

Good quality item but lacks information within the box to help put together and operate it.
Just received this steamer today so not used it as yet. After reading the feedback on this steamer I knew that it would be a bit awkward attaching the steamer baskets to the bottom metal parts but it didn’t worry me as I’m pretty good at things like that, it was the quality of the item that sold it to me. Anyway there was no instructions whatsoever in the box so it was down to good old common sense to tackle this one. After I had got the baskets put together I found that there is an instruction pdf download link within the purchase order of this item. I found that there is most certainly a knack to getting the metal bottoms attached to the baskets so this is what I did to attach them together.Part fill the sink with really hot water, place the plastic basket in the water with the side view facing you, put the metal part inside it, leave a few minutes and with the part furthest away from you, line the bottom into the little slot/catch and with the other hand in front of you push down gently, you will hear it click into place. Make sure you get the metal bottom part the right way up. The metal bottoms have round indents for sitting eggs into so should be dipped down to place them in. Hope this helps.I’ve not used the steamer as yet so will add further to this review later. As for the quality though, I’m really happy and I don’t think you will find anything better for the price, it is the best steamer that I’ve ever owned. The lid is nice and heavy holding everything down and plenty of room in the steaming baskets. I’m well happy with this purchase so far apart from the issues I’ve listed in this review, hence why I haven’t given a 5 star review.

Simple steamer
Up to 3 trays. Sturdy and safe. Simple to use and clean. Results consistent. Only slight point is that carrots do seem to colour trays slightly

lots off faults
this has lots of faults.1.the metal insert very hard to get in and dont stay in so when tipping food out hot plate fall out can burn you2. the metal plate has holes in to alough steam threw so you cant do thing like peas sweet corn and any thing small, as it fall threw also if on top it go in to the other food3. the lid dose not fit on tight4. The time is hour but after 30 minutes you need to add more water, which then mean the tray under is full of hot water so messy when trying to empty, plush you have to weight till it cools as hot and will spill on to you

5 Star
Got this to replace a more expensive one which started leaking from the base after one year, very pleased with this new simple but stylish steamer. It is well made, the trays are plastic but of high quality, like the stacking and storing away idea, it is designed with attention to detail, all the trays are numbered/ labeled for easy sorting. Like the idea the base of the tray is of steel and is removable. I didn't find the base hard to put in, just pop in one end into place and push down the other side until it clicks. I don't take the base out for cleaning though.Talking about cleaning, the simple design of the base unit make it far more easy to clean compared to the one I had before, which has various small compartments and makes it impossible to clean every corner so increases the chance of scale building, this one on the contrary is very easy to clean thoroughly.Happy with the capacity, the flexibility of taking off the tray base for bigger items. Happy with the simple timer function and steaming power. Happy with how easy to add more water when it is on. Happy with everything. It is a 5 star steamer to me, worth every penny, would highly recommend!
