Came with broken binding!
The book itself is a good book. It’s the condition it came in that’s disappointing.

Great textbook
Many details and insights. Not too technical. Perfect for gaining a basic understanding of the books of the New Testament and their historical and social context.

Binding
Contents of this book are very informative. However, just a warning. I am about 50% of the way through reading the book and the binding is starting to fall apart. FYI!

An exceptional work
This is book is invaluable for the student of Christ and early Christianity. Highly recommend this to both seminary students and for people who just want a deeper study of the time of Christ.

Treasure trove of NT socio-cultural setting
I can’t find any point to criticise in this book except that I read through this book much sooner than I thought I would. This is a very accessible book for the laity and casual readers. The authors are great scholars and I am familiar with some of their more advanced works and commentaries. I am delighted to see how they crystallised such an enormous NT socio-political and background information is such a thin volume of just about 600 pages and stuffed it with hundreds of beautiful and topical illustrations.
