professional fry cutter, makes family happy.
going to a famous hamburger place in oakland made me wanting a french fry cutter, I did a fairly extensive search and came across this one, as always a bit worrying that i was going overboard i hold my thoughts until i used it for a while but after many french fries platter to the delight of the kids i can say " mission accomplished", this cutter makes cutting fries a much easier task, it is solidly built and stand well on the succion cups on any surface. it came not assembled but I was able to pull it together on my own, my hubby did put the final touch in tightening the bolts. Now i can easily do regular potatoes, one trick I found is to put one potato after the other without pulling the cut fries every time, the following potato push thru the one cut prior, for big potatoes my hubby is needed when it comes to cut the number 1 Russet potatoes, they are much bigger and require some strengh to push them thru but kids enjoy the 6 to 8 inch long fries. i did get and use all the time a smaller 3/8 inch cutter, changing it was fairly easy. A good purchase that will go a long way.

If you are serious about your fries........
I've tried other cutters where potato fragments would get stuck in the cutter blades around the edges requiring alot of time to pick and clean out. Not with this one! Restaurants use this style cutter vertically mounted to a wall for ease of use. We use it horizontally with the included suction cups. The cutter held in place securely on our granite counter top during use. Pros: - Commercial grade, no cheap plastic to break. - Ease of clean up. Three wing nuts on the front, a quick rinse under hot water and dry. Be careful the blades are VERY sharp. - No hard to clean areas for trapped potato particles. Cons: It's large, storage might be a concern for some. Overall I am extremely pleased with this cutter. If you are serious about your fries, this is the one to get.

Still works great 8 years later
We had been through multiple French fry style cutters, all of which had issues or broke pretty quick. Then we got this one, and dang were we impressed! You can actually cut big potatoes without having to worry about pushing to hard! The blades are sharp, the handle is well positioned making it easier to push things through, itโs sturdy and the suction cups on bottom makes life so much easier. We have had this thing for 8 years now, used it countless times, and it still works just as good! You can cut so much more than just French fries with it too! Would definitely recommend!

Heavy Duty French Fry Cutter
I have used my french fry cutter now about five times. I am very satisfied with its performance. It is made heavy duty. Suction feet work well. I have granite counters and it clings very tight to the counter. I have to use my fingers to remove the suction and then it re-suctionโs. Regular russet potatoes are easy to cut. For me it takes two times to push through. Sweet potatoes are more challenging. I cut mine in half but still had a tough times pushing it through. Had to have my husband do the muscle work. There is an odor on the cutter (i believe it is the lacquer). Hoping that it goes away soon. The one thing I find difficult to do is to clean this piece of equipment. The potatoe sticks to the pushing plate and the cutter. I have been using a brush and knife to attempt to clean the potato residue. Overall I am very happy with this equipment and I feel the price was appropriate for good quality.

This is a SOLID fry cutter
This bad boy is SOLID. This is not your Target or Walmart potato cutter. POTATOES This thing cuts through potatoes like a warm knife through butter. It's amazing how little pressure is required to make quick work of a 10 lbs. bag of potatoes. Cut the ends off, cut the potato in half length-wise and go to town. SWEET-POTATOES Sweet potatoes are a bit of a challenge. The cutter *will* cut sweet potatoes, but you have to cut the sweet potato to much smaller blocks than regular potatoes. We found that quartering a sweet potato would generally do the trick. It requires a LOT of force to cut sweet potatoes. Think of it as a quick workout! OTHER THOUGHTS Cleaning the cutter after use is a bit more involved than other cutters. To take the blade off there are three wing-nuts that you remove, then the blade slips out and you can wash it. To remove the feeder block you actually have to use a screwdriver and remove several screws. We clean both the feeder block and blade after each use. It would be nice if the front suction cups were just an inch or so back. It does make it difficult to place a plate directly underneath where the fries come out. We get a few on each run that miss the plate and fall behind the blade. This is a great fry cutter. I can't imagine one more solid than this guy.

Perfect Fries everytime
Like most things i have bought, i didn't read the reviews till after my purchase..that's my fault because i don't think of doing that...i was skeptical as to how well this will work and was a little worried when i read some of the reviews that complained it was hard to cut the fries using this machine..You would have to be a total weakling not being able to cut fries easily...It took minimal effort and i mean minimal..Very happy with that part of it...The cutter is really commercial grade for sure...No plastic parts anywhere....Very well made machine. the only advice i would say is to cut one end of potato to make it flat and lay the potato so the flat end is at the grid end not the cutter blade end...The suction cups are big and really do the job of holding the machine in place..if anything some people might say its hard to get the cups to release from the counter..it is a bit tricky but really not too hard to figure a way to release easily with some ingenuity..if i had to make a suggestion to the company making this machine it would be put a safety to hold the long handle in place so it doesn't swing down when cleaning or storing the cutter when not in use..This cutter is the best
