This is a very handy pocket log for anyone keeping bees. Fits right into your pocket, or in your bee-suit front pocket for convenient access.I like that every page is the same and they have included all of the important categories and subjects most beekeepers will want to document.The back side of the pages has a very tall hive outline so you can simply make annotations about what each frame contains:Ideas of things to write - "B" brood... "P" Pollen... "HC" capped honey "HU" honey uncapped and so on. VERY convenient so that the next time you visit the same hive you can document their progress orrrr... losses.I LOVE the book but have stopped recommending it to my students as the price is just plain too high for what you receive.I hope it comes down very soon so people can just buy it in packs of ten and so on. Currently at over $10/unit?I do recommend it but hope someone else produces a more reasonably priced alternative soon as many beekeepers will want to stock up on ready made bee-logs.GREAT IDEA

So I haven't actually gotten to USE this yet, but I did TEST it and it. Is. AWESOME!! My kids couldn't even believe it until I tested that the pages (which merely feel like thick paper!) that they really are water proof or resistant! Pretty impressive!! I am a firm believer (being a true former bee-phobic aka "melissophobia") in wearing my whole entire suit in the yard even when its typical Delaware 90-100 degrees temperatures with severely thick and salty humidity, which only means: sweat!! Dripping sweat!! Trying to keep things up to date on my ApiManager app is just not possible on those thick-as-a-brick-wall humid days. This will actually allow me to jot down important key pieces of info on all 7 hives, without the risk of dropping sweat on my screen. I also appreciate that the seller included photos of the INSIDE of the book! I almost bought another because of how "pretty" the cover was...but I had no clue what the inside actually contained (others had poor reviews because the contents for beekeepers were virtually pointless), then the waterproof pages had me sold!!I attached photos to show size, content, water on pages, wiping the pages down, and a selfie for size (and to show off my bee locket hee hee!)

Got this for my hubby to keep track of his bees. It is a convenient little thing but I gave a 4 star review because when it came in it had a big order sticker on the front of it and when I tried to peel it off it just made a sticky mess on the cover. The sticker didn't affect the use of the book, but if I am going to pay for something I don't want it to be covered with a big sticker across the front.

Exactly what I needed

I dislike that there is no section for notes, I have to write in the margins and then transfer to a larger notebook. This is my fault for not looking into this impulse purchase further. I appreciate the quality of the book. But I am a "Forgets-it-all" that has to take notes and doesn't want to use a APP.

Great notebook. As others mentioned, pencil works best as pen smears easily on the waterproof paper. It's a minor setback but I have to do a lot of field work and riteintherain makes the best waterproof journals - though they all share this same setback with ink. There are two different diagrams on each page, a checklist on the front and on the back is a diagram of a beebox with some additional checks you can perform.

We've been keepers for 5 years. This is an easy way to track your hives. Not to much fuss.Handy and small.
