This buffer works well enough, but there are cheaper buffers that work better.The base block gets an A for quality and sturdiness/give, an A+ for foam blocks. I have used it lots, and the foam is still firm, not disintegrated around the edges, and has enough sturdiness to effectively work, but gives enough that if you are an aggressive buffer (like me) it won't hurt ya if you hit your cuticle or such wrong.It is a two step buffer, with the two smaller sides buffers, and the larger 2 sides shiner.The shiner gets an A, right after shining, it makes your nail appear as if they have clear polish applied.The buffer gets a B. It hasn't shed strings along the end or tuned to dust (yet,) the buffing surface works the best the first time used, then it's effectiveness decreases everytime.The grit seems to be rubbing off with each use.The foam piece of buffer material quite thin, and despite cuticle prepping, I had a hard time getting very close and buffing the cuticle or the side edges of the nail very well.The ridges on my nails appeared somewhat smooth, but still remained after a thorough buffing.There are a few drugstore/big box store buffers that do a much better job buffing for a cheaper price. If you want to get your nails completely smooth, I'd find a different buffer. If you want to have the shiniest unpainted nails at the party, get this one.Overall it's ok, although it is not a 4 way buffer as advertised, so for that I have to reduce the rating from 4 of 5 stars to 3 stars, it would've gotten more, maybe even a 5, had it been advertised as one.I personally prefer 3 or 4 step buffers, to me the process seems more cohesive with those other steps added, and this one fell in line with that preferential bias.

Really bad quality. Leaves glitter on your nails which sucks when you are going for a Matte look

You know those little kiosks in the malls at Christmas time, and there is always one where they want to sell you the 'miracle' nail stuff from 'the islands' and they have ONE of these Buffers they sell for TWENTY Bucks....Well.... this is Exactly the Same thing for an Amazingly Low Price!!!! It will last for years and really Does buff your nails to a high shine with NO polish on them!! Have used them for Years, but now I can save a LOT of cash!!! Excellent Quality!! Thank you!!
