Carved in Stone: Geologic Evidence of the Worldwide Flood

This is the book I have waited years for--a genuinely evidence-based textbook on Geology. The author, Dr. Timothy Clarey, does not, like most geologists, begin with the worn-out presumption of gradualism--that the rocks beneath our feet were slowly laid down over millions and billions of years. Instead, he freshly examines the actual physical evidence of cores drilled in recent years. Interestingly, this evidence actually supports biblical catastrophism! This book represents a paradigm shift in geology, an exciting departure from the tired doctrines of unimaginative tenured professors. Pointing to the example of the vast sedimentary depositions that occurred in the Mt. St. Helens eruption forty years ago this week, the author lays out the evidence in a stepwise manner. He begins with the movement of tectonic plates, and moves on to the vast sedimentary layers that make up the bulk of the surface of the earth. In the old geology model, these layers were identified by certain key fossils, and dated using circular reasoning based on the belief in secular Darwinian evolution. The sedimentary layers, however, are better explained, Dr. Clarey shows, as a result of vast tsunamis from a cataclysm, with each layer representing separate waves and currents. Many of these layers cover vast, continent-sized swaths, and can be best studied as “mega sequences” rather than traditional geologic column periods. The fossil evidence, too, best fits within a progression of waves that swept the animals or plant life away, and deposited them largely according to specific gravity. What a refreshing new approach! I found the chapters on the Ice Age and on the origins of coal and oil fascinating, as well. This book loudly raises the question: suppose the Bible were true, after all? Looking at the evidence presented, it really seems to be the best explanation for the way things are. Carved in Stone is lavishly illustrated, with numerous photographs, charts and beautiful graphics, with the highest quality glossy paper and binding. Thoughtfully designed and organized, it is well worth the cost. Although some of the concepts are difficult for a non-geologist, it explains them pretty clearly. Doctrinaire atheists will not like this book at all, for it accepts the probability that the Bible’s view of origins may be scientifically accurate. I think it will especially appeal to lay geologists and homeschoolers, but it belongs in the curriculum of every college that teaches geology. This work is a landmark achievement, a revolutionary new approach to our understanding of geology. I enthusiastically recommend it!

This is one of the most professional looking books in my collection. It's a beautiful book and could be listed as a work of art. Yes, it's big. Yes, it's heavy. Yes, it's loaded with facts and figures and yes, the photo reproductions contained therein are spectacular! For years and years, I had bought into the long age/Darwin evolutionary theory until I finally found out how fossils are really made (read the book!). Once you realize that you've been lied to all these years about how fossils are made, you'll begin questioning every evolutionary concept and discover how little evidence on which the evolutionary theory is based. You'll find that the foundation of evolution is imagination - not scientific fact. If you're searching for truth, this book has many answers to your questions as to the beginning of Earth and the origin of life and I would highly recommend this book to you. If you're an evolutionist who cares about scientific truth, this book is a must read for you. If you're an evolutionist who doesn't care about truth - stop teaching your made-up, evolutionary malarkey to our children and at least be honest about how fossils are made.

Love this book. Goes into depth of lots of proof for a world wide flood. Very interesting. Not a casual read, but absolutely fascinating. Can find more like this on their website - icr.org (Institute for Creation Research). As a previous science teacher, I loved this website. Many thought provoking articles and books, videos etc. These guys really know their stuff. Glad this organization exists to get the logical and scientific truth out there.

Great book. This book focuses not so much on evidence for the Flood (Though he covers some) but a Flood model for three continents. Anyone interested in that would love it.

Evolutionary science is in denial using misdirection, omission and outright lies to support a Darwinian evolutionary claim that cannot stand against modern science. The author has a Masters in Geology, a Mastors in Hydrology, and a Ph.D. in Geology. He worked for 8 years as an exploration geologist for Chevron and worked for 17 years as a professor. Massive issues in dating anomolies, the Great Unconformity, subduction and detailed comparisons of the continents researched, the fossil record and a multitude of other issues from ice ages to metasequences are all covered that prove a worldwide flood.My only complaint is not with the book or the author it is with the HORRIBLE customer support I got when I called ICR. Buy the book it will open your eyes.

I haven't read it all yet, but I can tell you that Dr Clarey, an experienced geologist, has a terrific manner, a passion for the word of God, and some fantastic insights and information with which he is making creationist history. The numerous pictures and diagrams are clear and interesting, and while Clarey's speaking style is a little difficult for the novice to follow-though deep and meaningful-his writing style is quite easy to follow and is very engaging. This is an enlightening book, and is cleary-ing up a lot of mysteries for me. Well worth the money. I only have one complaint: living in the Columbia Basin I would have liked more detailed consideration of this area.

I've read literally dozens of books on this subject and this one is by far the best. It explains all the phases of the flood geologically in great details. Well illustrated. Highly recommend it.
