OK for the awl
It is not the original reel spool and chord for the awl, it lacks the grease or sebum that makes the thread go somewhat sticky and waterproof and to seal the orifice made by the awl. Has good tension strength though and slides like silk, but does not form a sealed bond seam.

Perfect fit for my awl
Nothing special about this thread, but it is the exact replacement spool for my awl, and the thread seems to be strong and easy to use. I will buy again when this runs out.
