The whole book is poor. The author seems to have no practical experience of solar pumping and the examples are merely theoretical.

In brief, avoid - you're better off reading the explanation on websites of solar pumping equipment suppliers. Contents not as stated on cover (it does not tell you how to build a solar PV pumping system). Not very clearly written. Outlines a range of pumping situations (surface/borehole water, shallow/deep, distance and height difference from source to outlet), and suggests components of a suitable system for each. Gives a basic explanation of the components. More of a brochure than a build-your-own guide - should be free.
