Made amazing tej
Perfect amount for a gallon. I used 3lb honey and D47, let it go a a couple weeks and tried ri cold crash when it was 6% and semisweet. I think it went another week or so before I racked into old liquor bottles. I drank it all in a few weeks and it remained semi sweet. I told my parents it tasted like spice and was made from sticks 😂 they were not fans but I wasn’t sad to have it all to myself. Will be purchasing regularly

Titanic Te’j
I’ve been home brewing meads for a couple of years now. If I do say so myself, they’re all pretty good. However, the Te’j that I’ve been making with the Brundo Gesho Entchet is not only one of the best meads I’ve ever made, I believe it to be one of the finest meads I’ve EVER tasted, BAR NONE! I credit this entirely to the Entchet, because I’ve used a variety of honeys, and although they’d each have slight variances in flavor, as long as they were brewed in the traditional Ethiopian way with gesho, ALL of them turned out AMAZING! Thank you SO MUCH for making this obscure ingredient available for those of us who wouldn’t be able to get it otherwise!

Good for TEJ
This is the stems but I recieved 4oz instead of the 2oz stated which was a bonus. A little expensive for what it is, but can't find it anywhere else but an ethiopian store in the bigger cities, and the companies website.

Great Gesho for your T'ej!
If you like T'ej, or if you like mead, or even if you just like to homebrew, then this Gesho is for you! An exotic bittering agent, the twigs from an African variety of buckthorn, it balances the sweet flavor of the honey. It worked for me! Substitute sorghum syrup for some of the honey like I did and you'll find that you've made a deliciously complex beverage! I boiled my Gesho, but believe the Ethiopians just add it to honey and water and let it rip! Have fun.

A must for authentic Tej.
If you're going to make authentic Tej, Ethiopian mead, you need Gesho. This works as needed. It doesn't have a strong flavor or scent when dry, but as it sits in the fermenter with the honey, water, and yeast, it turns the must a lovely yellow, and releases scents of cinnamon, clove, and hops. My Tej is still in fermentation, so I haven't tasted it yet. I can't say if you'll enjoy Tej and Gesho, but I can say that this Gesho works for what it's intended to.
