If you are talking about the numbers on the Hull damage track, the numbers indicate how many additional months your submarine will have to stay in in refit between cruises. If you are talking about the numbers in parenthesis next to the 8.8cm status box it tells you how ammo tokens you place there for use in your cruise. The numbers in the electric engine and diesel engine boxes indicate status changes to the subs engine operations that will have game play ramifications explained in the rules manual.
