If it ain't baroque, fix it.
If you play baroque violin or are just interested in historical performance practice, you can't match Andrew Manze's fingerings and introductory notes. I play baroque violin as an amateur--it's amazing how modern violin technique can make fingerings difficult. Manze tells you it's not wrong or bad to play some open strings, and that baroque players tended to crawl versus leap their way around the fingerboard. Now I need to work on my right hand technique.
