Don’t use any lube when you change out a Symmons valve like Moen just put it in and go.
Tricky to install not many directions and even fewer YouTube videos for guidance. The handle is so heavy it doesn’t stay on the set temperature so when your showering and nice and cozy all of a sudden boom it goes swinging around and your either burning or freezing. If you’re super handy I’m sure you won’t have an issue with the install and it would look beautiful. I had to go back to the original knob but used all the other parts for my touch up job.

Nice replacement except the handle is too heavy and won't stay in place
decided to upgrade my original Symmons shower handle with this one. Pretty easy to install and works great. It does seem to show more water spots than my original but still was a nice upgrade for the price. ***UPDATE..I had to change out the spindle on this shower handle and the new spindle came lubed up already. I installed the new spindle and the handle will not stay in place now. The handle is so heavy that it slowly moves to either freezing cold or burning hot! I have tried everything to fix it, but I ended up having to go back to my old faucet handle. DO NOT USE ANY LUBE WITH THIS HANDLE, or it will not stay in place.
