Does the job!
I love this jacket! I use it when I go fishing, out in the woods and I will use it during hunting season. It protects my arms, neck, head and face. I didn't realize when I bought it, that the hood was attached but I love it. I haven't used the mittens but I like the option of having them.

Saved the dayโฆ or night
A night kayak through Southwest Florida mangroves. Oh yeah. This was best purchase ever! Stopped the no-see-ums and I could hear the mosquitos swarming around my head but no bites. Totally worth it. I could have sold this to other kayakers!

Got bit hundreds of times through the net
I suggest not ordering according to the size chart, or sizing up, specifically. I'm probably the max size that should fit in a S/M, and I got that size, and was absolutely eaten by mosquitoes *through the bug net*. I literally have hundreds and hundreds of bites on my elbows, where I was wearing a UV sun shirt underneath this bug jacket. I also have bites on my hands. I don't know what's wrong with me โ no one in my backpacking group got anywhere near as many bites as me, so maybe I just attract mosquitoes? Anyway, the whole time I was hiking, I was having to brush my arms and elbows to keep the mosquitoes off the netting. It didn't feel tight! It was an inch from my body in most places, but occasionally my elbows brushed against it, and I guess that was enough. The size I got also wasn't super comfortable over my sun hat, and it pushed into my chin in an uncomfortable way when I wore the hat. I did like that it had mittens. I wish they'd worked. It also had a different fabric on the shoulders and where the belt for my backpack went. These made the jacket bearable over almost 40 miles of (ultralight) backpacking. I do recommend the Ben's hat/head mosquito net โ I've used it before and it worked great.

It helped some
Helped when hiking in the boundary waters but didn't prevent getting bit by mosquitoes. If the net is touching your skin the can stin bite. Does help with flies and ticks.

Made in China, advertised made in USA.
Advertised as made in USA. โSquatch approvedโ THIS IS MADE IN CHINA! Come on, so unethical. I have emailed Benโs directly, put a post on social media tagging them, yet this still keep it up. So brazen.

Can't get it off without help or tearing the jacket
A couple of things I like about this jacket are that is not as warm as other similar products (who would have thought a net jacket would hold the heat in?), the shoulders are not net which is where I receive most mosquito bites so it should help with that. and the color is such that it is easier to see through than other bug nets I've owned. On the downside the first time I used it when I went to remove it, it tore across the seem in the back. I repaired it and tried again with the same result. I see no way to get the jacket off without damaging it unless you have someone to assist in pulling over your head. It would be better if it had a zipper in the front. Disappointing as I do a lot of night photography and need some protection from the mosquitos. I try to avoid insect repellent as I'm photographing fireflies.
