More Growing Up Catholic

For those of us who grew up at a time when the church was a center of family life or if you attended Catholic school before 1990, you will get quite a few laughs here. As a reader, you can relate well to this book. Most of the material in this book extends the jokes from the original Growing Up Catholic. As a Catholic, I found nothing sacraligous or offensive about a faith I myself practice. As the adage goes, the truth is often said in jest. And if you're honest, you will be able to say "I remember that..." Let's stop being so touchy about our status and learn to laugh at ourselves.

This is the second time I have had to buy this book, gave it to a friend and it never came back. Any one who went to a Catholic school up until the 70's knows this book. I laughed and kept saying Yes! Yes!. I'd lived it all until graduation in 1952.It was before Vatican 11 and a lot more fun. Things like this are gone from Catholic schools today, and kids are the loosers.Nothing like a good old fashion Nun to keep you on the stright and narrow. I thank author's for writing this book.

Having been raised with a Catholic school education, I found this book a hilarious read ! I have loaned it to friends and they have laughed over what we thought "normal". Very funny and so true.

I share this book a lot with surviving Catholics. It's actually a great way to look back and laugh at the experience whether you remain a Catholic or not.
