Banksy Locations & Tours Volume 1: A Collection of Graffiti Locations and Photographs in London, England (1)

I purchased both Volumes of this terrific tour guide after reading Banksy's Wall and Piece and watching "Exit Through The Gift Shop" and am not disappointed! Both volumes are filled with great photos and tons of info on the location, history, condition (many of these have been removed since the last visit by the author) and you don't have to go all the way the England to see them! The author seems very humble about all of it, when he could certainly go the other way and come across as self-important. The whole project feels like an excited fan who just wants to share his stuff with you. He doesn't make value judgements about graffiti or art or Banksy for that matter.While I prefer volume 2 slightly (as it has more varied content) they are both wonderful and are both must owns. I don't know how to compare them to their original versions (these are the expanded US Editions) but they do contain more photos which is never a bad thing.Each book is about the size of a pocket paperback (turned on it's side) but these books have nice card stock covers and over a hundred glossy photographs. Highly recommended for Banksy fans.A note on the Kindle versions. I own a Kindle so this is in no way a diss on them. These books in particular do not work very well on the Kindle. If for no other reason, the color photos can't be reproduced and the black and white photos do not have the impact they do on the printed page. So, once again, Kindle's are great, just don't buy these on Kindle. Spring for the paper versions. You won't regret it.

Bought as gift for son. Arrived in excellent condition.

I thought I was buying a set of coffee table books, and was again reminded to read every word on the ad page, and every review.this is a very small paperback, in fact, I gave them both away as gifts because the print was insanely tiny, and I got no enjoyment out of it at all. pictures were small also, constrained by the book size. for the price I would expect much more. other than that, good information if you have a magnifier to read it with.

The books were as described and they arrived immediately. They are a good introduction to Banksy's art; his skill at drawing and his social commentary are most evident. My 15 year old nephew liked the books.

Great book for any banksy fan not only does it show you each of his art works but it also gives you insight into the area of London and buildings around the art. It's like a map, art and guide book in one, I could imagine myself actually walking around London trying to find each of these locations mentioned.

I bought the books as gifts. The recipient's of their gift love them. Which made me happy.

I ordered these books for my son at his request. I found the 3rd one as a suggestion after ordering the other 2. He was elated! Thank you for the suggestion!

espected more arts from bansky, lots of repited arts over and ovr again, like that they are divided by volume so espect to see more of his works

Ich habe das Buch aus beruflichen Gründen benötigt und war knapp mit der Zeit. Zuerst habe ich bei der Bestellung aus GB gezögert, doch die Lieferzeit war ganz die übliche, wie aus Dtl.Banksy ist ein Muss für jeden, der sich für Urban Street Art interessiert. Leider kann man die Rundgänge, die in dem Buch beschrieben werden, nicht mehr machen, denn die Exponate sind zum Großteil (wg. Vandalismus, Diebstahl, Witterungseinflüssen) nicht mehr vorhanden. Darauf weist der Herausgeber aber auch gleich im Vorwort hin. Umso wichtiger ist die Dokumentation dieser vergänglichen Kunstwerke in Publikationen wie dieser.

My son was happy to get the book, enjoyed the content but we were both very surprised and how small the book is...although the dimensions were accurately indicated when I ordered the book. Not sure I'd pay so much for such a small book. One wants to see art work on a bigger scale, I feel.
