These girls are having a blast, relaxed joyous upbeat songs full of hooks and fun so exuberant
I got their fine debut album and enjoyed it but somehow missed out on their 2nd offering. This 3rd album is full of exuberant fun, stuffed with hooks throughout, the girls are certainly having fun on this lively album. From the opener Los Angeles , the scene is set. These songs get you moving, and they like to throw in quirky leftfield twists, turns and effects into the mix along the way. Some have complained about it being rather bass heavy with low fi production, but that set up gives it a distinctive feel. It is not throw away, there is some very fine assured singing, and exciting electric guitar playing and fine vocal harmonies on display throughout. The rough and ready live feel gives the whole album more spontaneity . It is definitely an album to rack up loud and relish. Lots of little intriguing effects and inserts are littered throughout, but rather than being distractions, they unexpectedly add to the slightly ramshackle feel and atmosphere of this bright full of life brash and bold album. There is not a weak track, every song is a gem, and this has been critically lauded and features well in several end of year lists. A bit different from my normal default of carefully considered singer songwriters and folk, this album of fun pops songs rocks out with great verve, one to play loud and proud. Another Try sees them experimenting with a reggae arrangement , and there are odd bits of rap included . Such an infectious concoction to relish in these gloomy times of lockdown and bad news, this is fun fun fun all the way, a lovely rambunctious album of joy to relish in these strange times, so uplifting.

Love these girls
Only discovered these girls when I came across their great version of Fleetwood Mac's Oh Well live at Glastonbury. Saw other versions which were also great. Decided to take a further look into them. Heard they were similar to Mac. I don't see that except guitarist Danielle does seem to be influenced by Buckingham's guitar solos. Anyway wasn't overly keen on some of their earlier stuff which was a bit poppy. Then started watching some of their videos which I have to say are marvellously entertaining. Some of the more recent songs then started to appeal to me. So I bought the album and I have to say it's a cracker. Still not convinced about the Mac connection but they appear to be musical magpies and I can see bits of Crosby Stills and Nash, Joni Mitchell,Prince, The Corrs and quite a bit of Sheryl Crow in them. Overall they appear really talented and deserve their success. One thing, all the girls can sing and it would be nice if one of two songs were given over to the other two sisters instead of just the occasional verse. Another thing, they want over £15 for the CD on here. I walked into my nearest HMV and got it for £7.99.
