For the Price this is an amazing TV
Sadly our Sony Bravia gave up and we bought this to replace it. Picture: Really good especially in 4k, HDI works well too. The only grumble I have is that on a dark picture you'll notice a slight lighting effect around the edge of the screen. However, you have to really look to notice it and, doesn't make any significant impact on picture quality. Sound: Can't give a fair review here due to using a sound bar. Menu: I personally found the Android menu system easier to operate. However once you get used to this one, it's fairly easy to navigate: Internet: You have the option of connect an ethernet cable or use inbuilt WIFI. I've been using WIFI and have been pleasantly surprised to find it actually works well. Out TV is connected via a WIFI repeater in the next room and the TV can easily stream 4k Movies from Prime without interruption or loss of quality. This suggests to me that as long as your WIFI equipment is up to scratch and not excessively far away, you should not have any streaming issues even with 4k. I also have a media centre for streaming purposes and again I have no problems interacting with it through WIFI. Bluetooth: I've connected my headphones to the TV via Bluetooth as I can be a late Owl watching a movie or binging on a series. I've had no problems with quality at all. However it has one REALLY irritating feature. Turning off Bluetooth headphones will always cause the TV to revert the sound back to internal speakers only, this is really annoying when you have a sound bar as you have to go into the settings each time to get sound through the sound bar again. LG should have made the TV remember the previous sound settings to fall back on by default when Bluetooth headphones are deactivated. Are you listening LG!!! Apps: I haven't really made great use of the apps but there seems to be plenty to choose from, note there are not many apps installed to begin with, so it's worthwhile connecting the TV to the internet at least temporarily to allow more apps to be installed and bring it up to date. Remote: Took me a little time getting used to the remote, it has a gyroscope system which helps for typing purposes. When activated, tilting the remote moves a pointer around the screen, this is SO much quicker and easier than using direction buttons. However it can be annoying if you fidget with the remote as movement can and often does activate the menu and pointer system mid movie. It's best to put the remote down during viewing. Pros: * Quality vs Cost * Good WIFI * Nice Remote with direct access buttons to Prime, Netflix, Rutowhatever * Gyroscope feature in the remote for navigation Cons: * Slight lighting anomaly on dark pictures but barely noticeable * Bluetooth deactivation sets sound back to internal speakers, not the previous sound settings * Pointer and menu activation through remote movement, just put the remote DOWN!!!

Out of this world technology in your living room!!!
Firstly I did a bit of research with other major brands, just to see wot set them apart!! The main thing I was looking for was connectivity, for future upgrading. This t.v. ticked that for me, with four hdmi sockets. But anyway Wen I unveiled the set, I was amazed at how huge it was!! I got excited to set the stand and t.v. together, which takes two people. Wen all was up and running which didn't take as long as I thought ( getting the settings right for your own comfort). I was simply blown away at the quality of picture, and sound!! Even the remote is like one I've never used B4 but as mentioned, it is magical!! But to sum things up watching telly and listening to music just isn't the same anymore. 55inch/ with sound bar and sub bought separately!! This experience I'm having now is definitely space age tech in a box!!! Excellent!!! Worth every penny!!!

Great value for money.
Great value for money. Sleek design, easy to wall mount. Navigation of menus takes a bit of getting used to but this is probably just because Iโm used to Toshiba TVs. Sound and picture quality is ok. If you compared to a Sony or others, youโd be wanting. But fir a mid range LED tv it is great VFM.

Great 4k TV
Great picture, sound quality is pretty good as well. Arrived promptly. We put it on a wall bracket and this is definitely a two-person job. We did not have a HDMI cable that supported 4k video, which caused a bit of head scratching initially. But once we swapped it all was well. The magic remote works well. There is a Plex app that is easily installed and works very well. 4k vision really brings out details, it is like watching real life and you can the tiniest detail, including actors spots. Overall, very pleased with this TV.

terrible
bought 14 December 2019. it's now 2024 and the LED backlight has gone. without doubt, the worst and cheapest tv i have 'Ever' bought, and i paid the most money. Apparently these tv's have a cheap LED set. The old inbuilt obsolescence so you have to buy again.

Let down by some key exclusions
Picture and sound are great. The setup wizard seemed very straightforward until it insisted that my ancient Bluray player was a set-top box and completely failed to find my actual set-top box (BT Vision) I had to set it up manually which was not intuitive at all and now the TV is constantly asking me if I want to turn on the set-top box every time I turn it on. Plugged in the Airiel and it found all the channels very quickly. Then started to set up the apps. Very inconsistent behaviour, some allowed you to use the pointer to click on the virtual keyboard, some would only allow you to scroll about using up down left right. Then I noticed iPlayer wasn't in the list, then I noticed All4 wasn't in the list either. After much messing about setting up accounts on the LG website and finding the UK app store, I could finally search for the apps on to find that neither are supported on the 55UN81006LB. Funnily enough, the paid-for service Britbox is. Is this some kind of conspiracy to get me to subscribe to yet another service to watch the TV i am already paying my license for? Oh and that smart remove is a pain, the voice search feature button is exactly where you would expect to enter/ok button to be so you constantly accidentally activate it. When you remember its actually the mouse scroll wheel thing then when you press it you sometimes accidentally scroll it activating the mouse pointer, frustrating beyond belief! Gonna give it a couple of days to see if the pros outweigh the cons but I am seriously thinking I should return it.
