I don't have this record but was curious what songs were on it. The folks who are into this genre say it's a great, eclectic mix (including some audio commentary). I usually avoid live albums but this one was dead cheap and I fancied revisiting my youth. A total delight was to be had. The live medium really helps do justice to their songs which the horribly flat production on thier first couple of albums failed to do.I'd forgotten just how good this band were. Total Control is their 'pension' song but is not at all representative of their music. They rock in the very best New Wave style - U.S. version!16 tracks and not a duff one. My picks would be...no, let me let you discover The Motels brilliance for yourself.

Dopo tanti,troppi, anni d'attesa finalmente la voce di Martha Davis, quella che un tempo era definita la Marlene Dietrich del rock, torna ad ammaliarci in questa bellissima raccolta, dal vivo, dei brani dei primi due album dei Motels, il suo gruppo.Eccezion fatta per un paio di brani di entrambi i dischi, sono qui presenti tutti i pezzi di "The Motels" e "Careful", dischi che all'epoca furono dei capisaldi della new wawe al femminile.Registrato dal vivo a Boston tra il 1979 e il 1980, presenta sedici brani che illustrano come la penna e la voce della Davis le permisero di ritagliarsi un posto di rilievo tra le varie Debbie Harry e Chrissie Hynde dell'epoca.Per chi ha apprezzato quella stagione musicale, quest'album è un "must", in quanto a differenza delle altre front women la Davis non ha mai goduto di molta visibilità, quindi ascoltarla dal vivo è un'emozione e un divertimento che riporta dritti filati a quegli anni, in cui queste pioniere del rock al femminile iniziarono a capitanare gruppi di musicisti maschi con sicurezza e maestria, senza badget miliardari alle spalle ma con tanta gavetta e quel qualcosa che oggi forse non è considerato molto "cool": il talento.
