Works as it should.
Great product works as it should. This is my second one, The first one lasted 10 years before it cracked and started leaking.

Attention to detail is suffering
I'm a bit torn on this review. I have been using Rain Reserve Diverters for years now and have shamelessly pushed their products (for free) at numerous rain barrel workshops I have conducted. The issue is in quality control. As it has been awhile since I last purchased one of these diverters--they're rugged and survive Ohio winters without any issue), I expected the same product as I used to receive. The old product had a more gloss-like finish that blended well with houses and downspouts. Yes, my issues are part aesthetics as rain barrels need to be more than functional, but good looking for many people and understandably so. The new model has a very rough, matte finish which soaked up the dirt on my hands and has a generally more dirty/cheap plastic look. Second issue--they changed the size of the outlet hose. No biggie except I had additional lengths of hose from previous purchases that would be useless but anyone who deals with rain barrels is masterful in making these things work. Although I prefer the new, larger outlet similar to the Oatey brand diverter, the change was befuddling. Third issue--here's the biggie that actually made me review this: The f****** thing had a hole in the bottom of the water collection chamber in between the two outlets ports! As these appear to be injection molded, whatever the mold shape is, it leaves (or can leave in my case) a roughly 1mm hole along with rough seems and edges. Seriously, no one caught this? I chose caulking over returning but I'm really disappointed in Rain Reserve. They flat out had the best product on the market and then decided to cut corners. What good is a diverter with a hole in it? Good enough to make you not buy this now crappy product? Pretty darn close.

i would recommend this product to folks
having purchased only this model of rain catcher so far, i have nothing to compare it with. however, i do have some observations that may be helpful to potential purchasers of this item. overall, i would give this thing a five star rating for functionality. when installed correctly, it does exactly what it is intended to. i put together a quick, two-barrel rain catch system on one corner of the house, constructed of schedule 40. with a heavy rain, this thing will fill up a single barrel within a couple of hours, no problem. there will still be a flow out the bottom of the drainpipe, it's just at a reduced rate. essentially, this device will cut down the normal drainpipe flow by about half, maybe a little more.my only real gripe about it is the price. it's a bit expensive, and i would put the price point closer to the $20 mark instead of about $30. but then again, purchasing the pieces to construct one's own rain catch device would not be much cheaper, so it's still worth the price. and it does save time over constructing your own as well. i plan on trying one of the Oatey ones to have something to compare it too. but for now, i would recommend this product to folks. it is purpose built for the task at hand, and it accomplishes the task with finesse.

It works, with a bit of modification
I have had this item for over a year now and currently use it to fill 2 55 Gallon barrels and also a 250 Gallon container.I will try to describe my setup, but i wish i could put a picture since it would be the best explanation.I had to cut a piece off of a 12oz soda can and place it over the overflow to make it work right. When i first hooked it up, i watched the water go straight through to the overflow instead of the tap-offs. In order to make it work i cut off 2 ends of a soda can and then cut the wall of the resulting "pipe" along the length once. I did not flatten out the resulting sheet and used the spring action to clamp the piece over the overflow part. The result is that the water cannot flow directly to the overflow, but if the containers are full, it does back up and overflow as intended. The one thing that i was not impressed with is the Winter Stops. These attach outside and are subject to laws of gravity like anything else, so they tend to fall off at times over winter. This year i will have to remember to tie the plugs in place.

Works fine.
This is a replacement for our original diverter. It works fine, but you can't use your old (15 years old) tube to connect to the new diverter. It has a larger diameter connection. So you have to get a new hose and an adapter for that hose to connect to your old rain barrel. The guy who sells them knows what to send you, you just have to tell him you need it.

Good product
I purchased this product to replace the previous one that had broken down in the sunlight. It had cracked and was falling apart. I was able to replace it with no problem so my rain collecting system is up and running again.

A Proven Design for me and it comes with a 4" to 3" Gutter Down Sprout Adopter
This is the second one I purchased. The painter broke the original one I had for eight years. It is a pleasant surprise that it comes with a 4" to 3" adopter. I had to fabricate a customer adopter on my previous purchase. I like the design and it works well. However the manufacturing quality is less than desirable hence 4 star. I needed to add additional PVC piping parts to meet my application need.

Arrived in perfect condition. Installed into a closed system as per ...
After researching rain diverters until I finally just threw a dart and ordered the Rain Reserve system. Arrived in perfect condition. Installed into a closed system as per their directions and waited for rain. When it finally rained I was so pleased. I was so skeptical about the performance of any of the diverters but the Rain Reserve system performed beyond all of my expectations. Half inch of rain on a 600 sq ft roof and I had two 55 gallon barrels full of water. It performed as good or better than advertised. Easy, simple installation and you are set to go. Easy to disconnect and change for over for Winter. Nice to get a product that performs as advertised.
