I recently purchased a 17th century document in Latin and this book was a godsend. It has so many helpful lists and features from list of common abbreviations to a glossary. The best part is the examples in Latin and then the translations of various types of documents. Only one thing that could improve this---photographs of examples. Highly recommend. Might be difficult to find but Devon Deciphered by John Booker has photos along with Latin Transcriptions and then translation to English.

Learning the basic latin as a genealogists is a great help and means that I can better understand the documents I read.

A useful reference book for family history - especially for wills, and legal documents pre-C19

Great book especially for someone who just wants to know enough for family history research like me but not know the language and all its grammar etc.

Packed full of useful information and plenty of exercises with answers at the back.
