Works. Difficult to use. Needs tall soaking boot and lots of time.
Purchased as a treatment for white line disease of horse hoof. This is an interesting chemical which is FDA approved in humans for bladder irrigation. It is also used in management of decubitus ulcers (bedsores). It is marketed as an unapproved drug for veterinary use, and in that role is sold direct to the consumer. One small container is mixed with a gallon of tap water, and the liquid is used in a tall soaking boot, also marketed by CleanTrax. The tall boot supposedly forms a column of liquid sufficient in pressure to "drive" the mix into the infected hoof. The soaking boot is left on for 45 minute, and then the leg is sealed in a plastic bag for an additional 45 minutes to trap the antimicrobial gas which is produced in the hoof. This gas kills both bacteria and fungi. This one and one half hours is an eternity for keeping most horses calm and immobile. Thank goodness only a single treatment is recommended in the product instructions. My vet, however, recommended 5 treatments, one every other day. unfortunately the soaking boot is not up to this regimen. I needed to buy a new boot for each soak, making this a pretty pricey treatment for white line disease. It does seem effective, though. I saw no effect of the chemical on the rest of the leg and bay hair was not bleached. once the chemical is mixed with water the mix supposedly is effective for a three hour period, so the same mix can theoretically be used for all 4 hooves, soaked one after the other. Of course course that requires your horse stand patiently for three hours. This is is a chlorine reaction based chemical. I did note that my other horses seem to love licking up the discarded or spilled solution, and the treated one licks their leg while still wet with it. It’s probably best to hose it away to prevent this.

Clean trax
This stuff works great. My mare has gotten two back to back abscesses in the safe hoof. I have soaked and never really got much drainage from it. She has been on antibiotics. I used a treatment of this stuff and I could not believe the amount of stuff that was removed from her hoof. I will definitely be purchasing this again to keep on hand. Hopefully now I can get this abscess cleared up.

Great stuff
This stuff works for fighting stubborn white line and abscesses. I have a horse who is very susceptible to white line because her hoof wall separates due to a slightly clubby foot.I wish they would divide the powder into two doses as I can’t fit a whole batch in a soaking boot. The price is ridiculous but it does get results.

Ferrier recommended this for white line
Ferrier recommended this for white line on the horses hooves. The treatment was hard -- horse did not want her foot in the bag (which you buy separately from wherever, online, tractor supply, etc). Once her foot hit the water/medicine solution, she kept kicking the bag off. When she finally got it on, you have to keep it on her for like 45 minutes while she's standing still, then transfer to a plastic bag for 45 minutes (per the ferrier..) so the process was long, hard on the horse, and on us. Afterwards the horse was very uncomfortable on the hoof. My guess is the medicine probably burns or is pretty uncomfortable, I'm not sure really. Having said that... the horse only has a mild case of white line, and was back to riding normally the next day. So, hopefully the treatment works. We'll have to see as the hoof grows out.

Works Great!
This is great for soaking a hoof and treating for thrush or an abscess. It's my "go to" for my senior horse who has a tendency to get abscesses. It takes a while to use - soak 40 minutes and then put on a dry bag and let the horse stand for 40 minutes more. But it WORKS! I always have at least one bottle in the frig at all times.

Relieves Abscesses Quickly
Terrific stuff for lame horse with an abscess. Your horse must be patient and willing to standWith his foot in a bag (i use an old IV bag with the top cut off and duct tape. Works great.Per my veterinarian s instruction i use only a half bottle per treatment. Clears up an abscessBetter than anything ive ever used. No daily soakings..just one treatment that takes about 1.5 hoursto administer.

Works to stop WLD
Be sure to WEAR RUBBER GLOVES! I didn't and after 12 soaking suffered a chemical burn on my ring finger, took months to heal. This product did great along with all other maintenance necessary to stop this bacteria from continued damage to inner hoof wall deterioration. Would use again.
