Bravo! for The Barista
The Barista was a joy to read - very hard to put down. The first few pages had some choppy back and forth dialog which almost caused me to pass this one by, but push on and you will be very much rewarded - like getting past the swamp in Bunyan's The Pilgrim's Progress. The style of writing is smooth, exciting and so well done. The description of Sheol and the trip into Hell alone makes the book worth reading. I haven't read a Christian novel this good since The Shack. Can't wait for Mr. Clark's next book. He truly is a gifted Christian writer.

The Barista
This book was unexpected. Just when I thought I knew the plot, it changed. And often.Thought provoking, eye opening, but not preachy. An unforgettable story, a contemporary Dante`s Inferno. Comforting for anyone, who has lost a loved one , struggled with forgiveness , or questioned their own faith. A great read and reminder of God's mercy , toward saints and sinners.

Good book. Thought the main character was a little unstable. But when we live our lives without a real relationship with God, every little thing can rock our world. Glad God brought some people in her that showed her the truth.

allegory of faith
This title of this book, as well as its cover, is a misnomer: it is not about a barista, nor does it have anything to do with coffee. It is a Christian apologetic in the form of allegory. A man finds refuge in a diner that is located in a forest. He is befriended by two kindly, elderly men, Emmanuel and Cephas. Emmanuel begins as an understanding man, but becomes a divine being (Jesus). This is a major turn in the characterization. For me, it sort of weakened the plot. I will not comment on its theology, that is for the reader. The appeal of this book will depend upon one's understanding of the Christian faith. It has some interesting insights. There is a section that seems reminiscent of "The Divine Comedy." It is meant to be inspirational. It encourages a depth and commitment of faith. Read with an open mind, it examines issues relating to faith understanding.

A MUST READ!!
I love this book. Its an awesome inspirational book about a man journey and walk with God's desire. "We must not only believe in Him, but we must also follow Him as He desire" Learn how to walk in his Desire, you will be blessed.

Barista
It is with great excitement that I recommend The Batista... This book will keep you in suspence until the very last page. Could not put it down. Found myself caught up in the character George struggles. This book will make an excellent witnessing tool.

Like a Complex Cappuccino
This is an interesting, complex allegory, based in one man's journey of discovering what God is like. 4 stars for a well-told story, with interesting theological positions.......Read it for yourself, and have a Bible and concordance handy.

An excellent read
Once I started reading this book, I just couldn't put it down. It has an excellent story line, and is very easy to follow. It brings a fresh and new meaning to the relationship that we should share with God. There is a real twist at the end, which finished the book off very nicely. When is the next book coming out Mr Clark? I will certainly read it!
