Must Have for Popeye Fans
Great book! The stories in here stay true to the original concept of Popeye from the Thimble Theater days while also giving us the Popeye of the Fleischer era of cartoons. They succeeded well beyond my expectations. These new adventures of Popeye just feel right. Definitely recommend this book to Popeye fans, this is a must have. One word of caution though, this book is really for the adult fan. While there is nothing offensive in the book, much of the humor is not geared towards children.

Where's the zoom? I found it.
Story and art wise, it's five stars. For some reason, the pages are not scaleable (zoomable) or able to rotate to landscape mode. The text is too small to read on my Android 7" tablet. I'll have to hold off on buying the many other volumes until I upgrade to a 10" tablet some day.UPDATE- I downloaded the Kindle app onto an Apple mini iPad. You guessed it- This title now views fine where I can zoom in for an easier reading experience. Go figure.

Adult Popeye Humor.
This book is like an extra long comic book with a thicker paperback cover. It was well worth the cost. It is in full color and is kind of on the adult side of reading as far as script. I recommend to anyone to consider purchasing this volume used. It is worth the price and is a great reminder of what comic books were like before the more present slick violent publications. It is worth the read.

Popeye is definitely a hit!
A sweet find I somehow missed first time through. Roger Langridge is a genius.

Popeye in Classic Form
I'm pleased to see Popeye published as a regular comic book once more since the comic shop shelves need more humorous titles. Writer Roger Langridge has clearly immersed himself in classic E.C. Segar Thimble Theater strips, almost too much so, using stock phrases from the 20's and 30's era that don't translate too well into the modern era. But I quibble, this collection of Popeye stories is beautifully drawn (especially by Tom Neely) and colored, plus the addition of Sappo, Wotasnozzle and Myrtle backup stories almost outshine the main feature. My ten-year-old enjoyed this collection and is now reading Craig Yoe's collection of Bud Sagendorf Popeye comic story collections. Truly a great time to be a Popeye fan!
