Celebrate 400 years of Shakespeare's legacy with this repackage of award-winning author Diane Stanley's tribute to the world-famous playwright William Shakespeare. Nobody knows exactly when or why William Shakespeare left his boyhood home of Stratford-on-Avon for the great city of London, but it didn't take long for him to make a name for himself. His plays are now performed almost every day in just about every part of the world; even people who've never seen them use words and phrases he introduced into the English language. How did a man from an unremarkable family create a legacy that the world, even 400 years after his death, has never forgotten? There will always be unsolved mysteries about Shakespeare, but what we do know of his life, his times, and his theater makes for a very dramatic story. Review: Informative and a fun interesting read - Very informative book on Shakespeare. My kids and I have been reading retellings of the plays to prepare them for the actual plays down the road and this book just helped open their eyes to who Shakespeare was. Great illustrations and book! Definitely worth reading with your child. Review: Watch for this Author she's a Gem! - This author was new to us and we will be looking for her from now on. The pictures are sooo wonderful they transport you. The information is well done and clear, yet not watered done. This is someone that REALLY understands writing books for children that adults can enjoy using as teachers or parents. I recently bought alot of books on Shakespeare, for use in the school room this year and we have found 4 authors that made the grade on this subject! This is a keeper!

Perfect combo of illustration and detailed information
Great illustrations and info...it's plenty of info but presented in a way that is engaging for my kids and not just going in one ear out the other. Well done and a great resource for our Charlotte Mason-ish homeschool

Good children's introduction to Shakespeare
This is a very simple and visually appealing book that we used to introduce William Shakespeare to the children. This proved to be quite effective tool. After reading, the children's interested increased and they began down the path to understand Shakespeare and his work.
