Works as Advertised and Perfect for Me
This gets the job done! I bought 3 magnets - 2 for the right side of my laptop monitor to hold up my Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra, and one for the left side to hold up my phoine. Altogether, I installed 4 metal plates to my laptop so that I have the option of placing the extra monitor on the left or right side. The adhesive used on the metal plates is 3M VHB, which is the best advesive on the market, and perfect for this use case. The magnets are heavy and strong, and the adhesive is strong, After a month of usage, I can say 'so far, so good'. I ahve the following comments to add:1) The cure time of the 3M VHB adhesive at room temperature is as follows: approximately 50% of the ultimate strength will be achieved after 20 minutes, 90% after 24 hours and 100% after 72 hours. Therefore, I waited the full 72 hours before even trying to attach and use the magnets and extra monitor. You won't regret waiting 72 hours, and you will be sorry (or disappointed) if you don't wait the full 72 hours. Why would you not, after spending $30+ for each magnet.2) Don't go cheap and buy only one magnet to hold up the wait of a tablet or monitor...buy two as suggested by the seller. One magnet will constantly result in sagging and a disappointing experience.3) If you attach a Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra as your second monitor, please be aware that the magnets will cause the screen to 'blank out' if you attach the tablet in landscape 'right-side-up' orientation (meaning, the camera and buttons are on the top edge of the monitor. This was an unexpected result, however, flipping the monitor in landscape 'upside-down' orientation (camera and buttons are on the bottom) does not blank out the screen, and the screen still displays correctly...so that is what I did. The unintended consequence of mounting the tablet in this position is that the charging port is on the edge that sandwiches to the laptop, making it unavailable for charging while the tablet is mounted and in use.4) I rated this setup as 4 stars for versatality only because the setup does not allow the angle of the screen to be adjusted, but the fixed angle of the magnets gives the screen a nearly-perfect viewing angle.5) Versatality was also downgraded because the weight of the magnets and the extra screen and the cell phone causes my laptop lid to fall completely back if i tilt the laptop screen back more than just a few degress. At home, I grab any sturdy object to prop up the screen from behind if I feel I need to tilt the angle back more. Away from home, I would wish for some type of adhesive 'flap' that could attach to the back of the laptop screen and be pulled out when needed to prop up the screen, and pressed flat when not needed. All in all, I love this purchase and it has made me infinitely more productive on the road, at the library, etc.

It works but ….
This product absolutely works. I use it to attach a small monitor to my laptop. I rarely move my laptop, so I do not have a ton of issues. However, if you are planning to remove these magnets on a regular basis, you will have problems. The magnets are so strong it will eventually rip the adhesive metal plate off. I went ahead and used E6000 to attach the metal plates to my laptop and small monitor permanently but it has come off again at least once in the past 6 months. I just reattached it with more E6000 and I try to be very careful when I need to move my laptop. One magnet was enough for me, I lean my screen against the wall to support the extra weight of the 2nd screen and magnet.

whoa, dawg
When I bought this, I overlooked that the contraption itself was made of a neodymium magnet. I read other reviews and decided to purchase my own super-strong little magnets to adhere to my devices, since everyone was complaining about the weak adhesion in the magnets that came with it. I think this was a mistake lol.So, if you're like me and enjoy speed reading through product descriptions before impulse buying, let me clear this up in bullet point form:- The mount, in its entirety, is made of basically the strongest magnet known to man. It is VIOLENTLY strong if it's around other neodymium magnets. DO NOT purchase additional neodymium magnets to adhere to devices; you will have an impossible time separating the mount from your devices.- It comes with two sets of 3M magnets; Two square 3M VHB (that can hold 5lbs+ of weight) and two circular 3M magnets that you'd find in a phone case or for use in a car phone mount. I used the 3M circular magnet on my iPad (7th, 10.2"), and the square 3M VHB on my MacBook Pro's cover. These are more than sufficient.- Although the mount comes with a total of four 3M magnets, you should only be using 2. You need to remove the magnets stuck to the mount when it arrives. I think this is why people think this mount is weak: they're sticking a 3M adhesive magnet to their device and then expecting it to stick to a separate 3M magnet that is stuck on the mount.- It is VERY difficult to remove the 3M magnets from the mount, but you'll need to do this to get it to actually hold your device without slippage. To do this, slide the magnet off of the mount (you'll know what I mean when you see it).- If you're not comfortable with putting an adhesive magnet on your device, you can actually slip the 3M magnets between a case and your device; I am currently doing this with my MacBook and it holds perfectly fine.- You can remove the mount from your devices as frequently as you would like to -- in fact, I'd encourage this. The weight of my iPad shifts the center of gravity for my MacBook (naturally). So I wouldn't recommend leaving it for longer than a few hours at a time, especially if you're using a MacBook stand -- mine is pretty much propped up, so my iPad is fully suspended in air.- If you're using this for Sidecar and an iPad, the shift of weight/center of gravity issue could become really annoying if you're using the MacBook's keyboard. Every time you lift a palm while typing, the MacBook will tilt in the direction of the iPad, lol. But this is not an issue if you're using a MacBook stand and Bluetooth keyboard (which I would highly recommend).Overall, I am extremely happy with this product. Perfect execution, brilliant invention. The brand needs to work on their instructions a bit so they can avoid all the low ratings of people who don't realize the entire mount is made of neodymium magnet and they need to remove the 3M magnets that come stuck to it first. Information is power (and higher reviews)!

Failed to hold up
This is the second one that I had ordered. The first one i placed on my computer and got impatient after waiting 1 hour for the glue to stick and put my galaxy fold 6 on it and it did not hold up and came undone.. I ordered a replacement and shipped right away. This one I waited the 24hr that it says to wait. After 3 weeks, the glue came undone again. I would not recommend this product such a disappointment
