PROTECTION PLAN IS A MUST-BUY!!!!!
The slippers themselves seem to be decent basic fuzzy slippers, even without the USB heaters. After a year, the pair I have are fine. However, after getting them out of summer storage for the Winter it seemed that neither of the pair were self-heating. (There had been some question about at least one a few weeks after purchase, but I wasn't sure.) Why?The USB-powered heating elements are sewed inside a foam pad that inserts into a zippered compartment of the slipper. Using a USB Ammeter (also purchased from Amazon), I determined that the pad was drawing no current when plugged in. Dissecting the pad reveals that while the external plug connector seems sturdy enough, inside the wires are quite fine -- and apparently, prone to breaking off where they connect to the heating element if one isn't incredible careful in disconnecting from the power switch cable, due to a lack of strain-relief protection inside the pad. Of course, such relief would require the wire inside be circa three inches longer, and make the insert substantially more complicated to sew together; it's an understandable decision by the manufacturer, even if it makes for an inferior product. It might be possible to re-solder the connection (and maybe even connect a longer wire to allow the strain relief), but I'm not sure how durable the heating element insides are, and frankly that seems more hassle than buying another and getting the protection plan.Long (10') USB extension cables make a nice accompaniment to the purchase... as does a USB ammeter, so you can verify that they continue to draw power.

Happy feet now!
I am very happy to use my heated slippers! My feet are always cold when I'm sitting at my desk or in my chair in my living room. Now I can enjoy watching TV without having ice block feet! I would give them 5 stars, but they are really too wide. I can't imagine anyone with feet as wide as these. But if I don't try to walk around in them, it doesn't bother me too much. Note that these are really not practical to use as regular slippers around the house. They are very floppy since they are so wide, but primarily, the cord for the heater sticks out of the front of the shoe and click-clacks on the floor with every step. I generally slip out of them if I have to walk away from my chair for a moment. I keep them beside my chair in the living room now, and am very happy to have warm feet while I'm relaxing!

Warm Feet!
So far so good. I have used them powered by my computer, a USB charging station, and a battery power bank. They work with all 3 power sources. I wear a ladies size 11 and purchased the Large/XL and they fit well.Yes, they do require 2 USB ports, but that is specified in the description.Pros:The 2 power settingsThey disconnect from the cords right next to the slippers so you can walk around in them without getting tangled in the cords. They are comfortable.Cons:The controls are near the feet so it is not as easy to turn them on and off.The materials make me think it is best to not walk around in them and just use them while on the computer or watching TV.

Warm and snuggly
These slippers are a great preventative measure for the dreaded "computer feet." They're large, cushy, soft, and they heat up quickly. I would recommend buying a dual usb wall charger, as not to monopolize too many of the ports on the computer. I also recommend a wall charger, in case your a (cough) forgetful person like me and try to get up to fast without unplugging (RIP my 3.5mm jack). I took off one star because they do overheat, and are a little hard to walk in if you decide to go around unplugged.

Not a bad product, I give it a 3.5 of 5
The slipper itself seems to be of pretty decent quality and is nice and fluffy and furry. The heating pad which is nestled in a separate section of the slipper could use a bit more work. It seems to be quite flimsy and the heating pad does not cover the whole inside of the slipper where the foot sits so it doesn't warm the toes. While you can disconnect the main cords from the slippers so you can walk in them, I wouldn't I'd be worried the heating element would get damaged. Also, if someone who suffers from neuropathy (which I do) you would want to warm the slippers up prior to wearing them and disconnect the power before putting them. Just food for thought.

If you have cold feet these are for you!!!
Pros: Amazingly warm, soft, easy to walk around in when inplugged. If you have cold feet these are definitely for you.Cons: No power source (use your PC or standard USB chargers which you likely have lying around), odd feeling to walk around in, indoors only. These are absolutely no joke or novelty, they heat amazingly well. I have extremely poor circulation in my feet and while I'm very cold natured (ie love the cold) my feet hurt if the rest of me is comfortable. I usually resort to wrapping heating pads around my feet and am shocked at how warm these get - they are almost too warm! I'm using a few old iPad 2A chargers to power them so I may try some lower amperage ones to see but be assured if you have cold feet you won't with these. Easy enough to unplug and walk around the house in although they make a strange squishy sound on hard surfaces.

Not exactly what I was expecting
I bought these for a gift for my dad at Christmas. He has naturally cold feet so I thought this would be perfect. I gave it 2 stars because he does use them and does like them, but overall, I'm not thrilled. The shoes are bulky in nature and very generic looking. The outside of the shoe is soft but the inside isn't overly comfortable. You have a port in the tip of the shoe that you plug into the USB cord and use a USB box to charge. You charge the shoes until you feel it's warm enough, unplug and wear until the warmth dissipates. There is no temperature control and it doesn't hold heat for long. If you have neuropathy or diabetes, I would be hesitant about this product because of the lack of control over the heat. They do get hot!! Overall, disappointed in this product but giving it 2 stars because my Dad said he liked them.
