Fenwick Elite Tech Walleye Spinning Fishing Rod

The product itself is great, exactly what I was expecting. However, the packaging in how it was shipped was very poor. It was in a long cardboard box that was flexed during shipping bending one of the loops. Should had been shipped in a cardboard cylinder like how fishing rods are supposed to be shipped.

Bought a 6'3" Medium Light Dec of 2017. It is by far my favorite rod in the boat for jigging. I have it paired with a Plueger President reel spooled with braided line and a fluorocarbon leader. The most sensitive rod I have owned. I have another rod with same reel and line and this one is the go to rod.

Rod arrived earlier than promised date, which was great. Upon removing the rod from the transport tube, noticed the fiber ring at the top of the cork seat was loose. How could a new rod get thru quality control without this being noticed.

I have only used it one time but the sensitivity is great it seems to be a little less stiff than my Fenwick HMG, I originally paired it with my Pfleuger Supreme reel and my Pfleuger President series on my HMG. I think I will switch them around and see how the fit works then. Overall with only using it once and weather and water conditions not being ideal to catch fish. I like it but really have to reserve final judgement until I actually catch fish with it!

I expected the rod to be a bit more flexible. If you want a stiff rod, this one is for you.

I jig the Detroit River for walleye using primarily 3/4 oz jigs. I typically used a Skeet Reese one piece baitcasting setup. However I was looking for a spinning rod that I could use or have on hand if we had someone with us in the boat to use. This rod is light and sensitive. It has a decent backbone but it it definitely a medium action rod, not a medium heavy. Still plenty to use a walleye though. Good buy and nice rod.

Love this rod. Medium Light with a sensitive tip to feel any bite! Has plenty of strength. I hauled in a 12 lb Carp on 4 lb line with this rod. Love the cork handle and the way it locks the reel in. Worth every penny. Its perfect for Trout and Walleye most average sized fish yet has the strength for the BIG one.

I bought two of the Fenwick Elite Walleye - Spinning Rods (6' 6" Medium - Fast) for jigging on our 5 day Canada fishing trip in September of 2018. My uncle and I boated 241 walleyes during the trip. He used his St. Croix rods and I used the Fenwicks. The rods performed perfectly and I would highly recommend them to anyone who is serious about walleye fishing!!!

Looking forward to putting this one in the water. I have read so many good things about it. For now I can say, that it has a good feel to it and looks great. A perfect jigging rod for walleye.
