Clear detailed sound that is bigger than you'd expect
I bought these as part of a plan to improve the old CD based hi-fi system I had, and explore music streaming. The details of all that are not really relevant here - apart from to let you know where I started from. What you do need to know is that I now have a system that consists of a Wiim Mini Streamer feeding via a Fibre Optic cable a Cambridge Audio DAC Magic 100 which in turn feeds a current model Rega Brio Amp which drives the Q350 speakers. The input I use is Amazon Music Unlimited (over WiFi) the vast majority of which is in CD Quality (44.1 KHz 16 Bit) or higher and my opinions are based on listening to this setup. To my ears the Q350’s sound very good indeed - the result is clear, very detailed and sounds much bigger than you’d expect given the size of the apeakers. The bass response is excellent in that you can hear what is going on rather than an indistinct rumble and I don’t find the treble overpowering even though I can hear small details that I hadn’t noticed before. FWIW I have the EQ turned off in the Wiim and there are no other tone controls here but I’m happy with how they sound. They are in a moderately furnished room that is roughly 14ft x 16ft, they are on either end of a unit 6.5ft apart and 18” high, they are sat on isolating foam pads (not the stick on rubber feet supplied with them).Although they are a bit too close to the rear wall (at 7”) I don’t feel the need to put the foam bungs in the rear ports (although I did try them to see if they helped - they didn’t really). FWIW these are two part affairs so you can either put the whole things into the ports or push the middle part out and use a sort of foam pipe to get less attenuation - I did find that if you put the whole things in you could blow them out with a bit of bass heavy music. You might need them though. The Brio is rated at 50w per channel and believe me it is more than capable of driving the Q350’s to the sort of sound level that will really annoy the neighbours whilst still sounding very clean. I tried my old Marantz PM-66SE amp with them and it also worked fine. There are reports of the Q350’s being difficult to drive but if your amp has some grunt you should be ok.Overall then the Q350’s are great from my perspective, but there are some caveats - there have to be some “buts” don’t there? My opinions are based on what I hear using this current set-up and my rather old ears in my living room – YMMV. I also only listen to the music I like which goes from Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin through Talking Heads, Steely Dan, The Crusaders, Nirvana, Eminem, Linkin Park and Stormzy amongst others. How they would work with classical music I don’t know.Loudspeakers are always at the end of a Hi-Fi system and can only deal with what they are fed and the Q350’s will quite ruthlessly expose any weakness upstream, so if you are upgrading an old system like I was you may not want to start here. They will also reveal poor recording quality so if you are expecting your old records to be reinvigorated you might be disappointed.Although they sounded good straight out of the box they do improve a bit with use, they’re electromechanical so need to bed in a bit, like a new car does.Having done some research I was all set to buy the Elac Debut 6.2 at £299 but noticed these on offer at £349 in early January this year so I bought them on impulse. The current RRP is £549 although you can still get them at £439, I don't understand this pricing policy and I don't think it's helpful. Finally there is the entirely subjective issue of how they look, you don’t get grills (they’re about £30 extra) but I don’t mind that. Mine are black and more or less match the rest of the AV gear at that end of the room; my wife doesn’t seem to mind them. They are distinctive though and might not suit everyone.

Excellent value at £300
Well worth their price at £300. Not so much at full price. A bit bass boomy if close to walls so watch out for positioning. I'd say a nice fairly neutralmsound meant for all kinds of music. Nice design although the cabinetry is nothing to write home about. A good purchase at £300 for someone who's getting into hi-fi.

Excellent Super Speaks 👌
Well i bought these beauties at £379.00 last month because I'd already bought the Q150's last month too at £299.00 Had to buy these Q350's because i was so amazed of the Q150's just had to try and buy these and was a tad disappointed 😞 as they are harder to drive but as i use the same amplifier i bought an excellent speaker 🔊 switching unit from Amazon (av-link) AD SPK14 at £25.00 at 26% discount and that's a excellent piece of kit, Totally solved my problem.Anyway the KEF Q series (150 and 350) that i now own Thank you Amazon for great discounts and KEF for your superb speakers 🔊Will update when I've burned them in (or run in)Super listening folks 👌Joner ( bass reflex speaker designer ) patent secured. Superb
Superb sound for the price. I'm sure there are 'better' or 'cheaper' but it's all about the sound I like and they perform brilliantly and look cool.... love them

AMAZING sound quality, beautiful design and 1st class customer service
I've been wanting the KEF Q550 series 5.1 setup for several years now, and having finally bought the system of my dreams, I am blown away by how good it sounds, and how good it looks. Setup consists of Q550 floorstanding, Q650c centre, Q350 Rear surround and 12b Kube subwoofer. Both music and films sound on another level to anything I've heard before, with crystal clear audio quality. If you are looking for a 5.1 system for your home cinema, this is the setup for you.I also experienced the best level of customer service I've ever received. One corner of one of the Q550s was slightly damaged upon arrival, I contacted KEF and had an immediate response (which was after normal business hours), the team there handled everything so swiftly and once the return had been received, a replacement was despatched the same day, for next day delivery, it arrived by 10am. It's so good to know that KEF value the customer experience so much, and understand that a high-end system like this needs to be absolutely pristine, which it is. I am one very happy customer, I can highly recommend KEF. Thank you! :)
