as good in practice as it is in theory
I can't think of a single thing I would change about this thing. It is as compact as possible while still maintaining the full functionality of a tenkeyless or even a fullsize keyboard when using numlock. The layout is intuitive and convenient -- function keys are aligned perfectly with the number row and the home/end/page buttons are aligned perfectly to the right of the well-known backspace/enter/shift locations for easy touch typing should you be so inclined. The arrow keys are also easy to find without looking, being pretty much where you would expect to find them on any other chubbier keyboard. The POM keycaps are nice and thick, adding wonderfully to the sound of the plate-mounted MX blue switches (which I wholeheartedly recommend as well). I also appreciate the fact that the USB cable is non-detachable since many of the mini-usb inputs for keyboards in this price range tend to be fragile and prone to detachment from the PCB.The new version (which I received) also changed the modifier keys to the left and right of the spacebar so they're all the same "standard" size which should make for easier keycap replacement. All the keyboard functions worked perfectly right out of the box with both my old netbook and new desktop running different versions of Ubuntu. I really couldn't be happier with it. I even enjoyed the box it came in!side note: as another reviewer of this keyboard mentioned, some computers will activate numlock on your keyboard by default via a setting in your BIOS. Since most people probably don't want that you will have to change the setting in your BIOS if you don't want to turn off numlock every time you restart your computer. If that made no sense to you just google "how to turn off default numlock"

It only lasted 9 months.
I purchased this keyboard a little over 9 months ago knowing they didn't come with Cherry switches rather their own switches. In the first month the spacebar had come off. I got in contact with the warranty company and they told me they couldn't replace it and I would have to call Noppoo to see if they could replace it. Never got around to it so I just dealt with the spacebar constantly popping off mid game. After about a solid 3 months of owning this thing I started to notice the switches on certain keys(2, 3, W, and A) stopped giving a tactile or noise feedback. They just felt like really cheep reds. After about a solid 6 months there was 7 keys that didn't function how they were supposed to. At the 9 month marker the keyboard itself refuses to function. All the pretty lights work, even when my computer is turned off. I've tried all the random keybinds that Noppoo has just in case my cat pressed something but that wasn't the case. This is my third Noppo choc mini I've purchased since I discovered this company and this has to be the one that has lasted the least amount of time with just gaming. At least the other two I accidentally spilled water over them saving them from this embarrassment. But then again, those were Cherry MX Reds which might've lasted me years without these issues.Note: I play anywhere between 8-12 hours every week. So if that's your case, you might want to look for a more durable keyboard.

This is a nice keyboard built with premium quality
This is a nice keyboard built with premium quality, and I would like to list its pro and cons as following:Pros:1. Keys Layout is great - This keyboard does have the best key layouts I have ever used as a gamer and developer, and it does speed things up for me while coding, and for me personally, it has the best layout for MMO gaming as well as MOBA games. I had been using Choc Mini 84s USB NKRO for 3 years, so no problem to switch to this keyboard with exactly same keys layout.2. Programmable keys - I always want to have a control of everything, so remapping the keys is like the key feature to me, and my old Choc Mini 84s doesn't offer this function, so this is one of the main reason why I purchase this keyboard.3. Really Cool RBG backlight - This does make the keyboard looks cool, and you can customize every single key's backlight, and this can also helps people to mark your keyboard area with different color to help you navigate around the keyboard. (But mine's arrow down key seems to be bugged which can only set to be green and blue, so -0.5 star here)Cons:1. Noisy typing - Since I was using Choc Mini 84s USB NKRO for long time, Noppoo ® Choc Mini 84 RGB backlighting NKRO doesn't impress me when I first getting my hands on the keyboard, I know a lot of mechanical keyboards has the nice mechanical sound while typing, some people like it, but as for me personal, I would prefer Choc Mini 84s USB NKRO because it has better touch feeling and doesn't cause much sound as a mechanical. So if you are looking for a mechanical keyboards which is no very noisy but has similar keys layout, then Choc Mini 84s USB NKRO could fit you better. (-0.5 star here)In general, the keyboard this keyboard is definitely one of the most on the market for programming and gaming purpose.

Best keyboard ever
I use this for programing and have used over 10 mechanical boards. Best one Ive touched, worth every penny. Brown keys are amazing and smooth as butter, better than Cherry MX. Love the Fn side-key inscriptions. Layout is perfect, all the necessities in smallest package possible. Lighting is very well done and useful. Software is simplistic, which is fine by me.Similar boards I tried:Quisan 82-key blue switch (brown not available) - good board for the low $50 price, but nowhere near the Chocco this in terms of quality, plus blue switch drove me crazy.Roccat TKL Brown - Not as good, but cheaper so still good value, still use it at home, much bigger than the Chocco-miniTesor Tizona - Low quality, not low price, returnedTt Poseidon Brown TKL - Good quality good price, but on the TLK the shift key had high friction so I had to returnTt Poseidon Brown Full - Great board for a good price, still have it but needed a smaller board due to shoulderRosewill Brown Switch, Regular no LED - Good option if you don't need lights/compactness
