HOOKER BLACKHEART STEERING SHAFT

Bought this to replace rag joint steering in my 2002 xtreme blazer with the stock 4.3 motor. I know this is specifically for v8 swap headers, but it fit fine in my application as well. I would definitely recommend. Steering is nice and tight now. No more sloppy rag joint.

This is what should have been installed at the factory, the flexible rubber joint that was used for so many gm truck for so many years was such a failure point in the steering system causing excessive play in the steering wheel. This was not the cheapest fix, but way easier and I don't have to worry about having to replace it later. Definitely a great steering upgrade.

Purchased the new shaft to try and eliminate the excess play in the steering. Product is well made and arrived several days early. Install was easy since I doused the old shaft's connector in PB Blaster several days earlier. The only downside is the plastic shield the used to fit over the old rag joint no longer fits as nicely since the U-joint on this shaft is longer, but you can make it work with a little extra effort. Steering still has play in it, but nowhere near as bad. Going to try swapping the steering gear box next, since that's the last part I haven't tried.

Way better than oem

Best way to fix oem sloppy rag joint. Be advised though, this product will cause you to notice if your suspension is worn out if you still have steering slop. Otherwise this is a brilliant replacement part.

This steering shaft was simple to install and fits perfectly through my header tube with plenty of room. 2001 s10 lq4 6.0 swap.

Good product. Little bit on the expensive side. Saves some space
