Translating God: Hearing God's Voice For Yourself And The World Around You

I just received this book yesterday at 4 something and just finished reading it at 1130am today...so it is an easy read! I never heard someone in the prophetic ministry say the things the way he did. He DOES give a detail plan (unlike what one of the reviewers said on here) of how you can tap into God gifts. It really is about wanting the genuine heart of God and being accountable. "Tracking your words".. apologizing and realizing when you missed the mark but also celebrating people. See people through God's eyes of love and not through our experience, emotion's..really having relationship with people is a KEY into moving in the prophetic. Not isolating oneself but connecting with people and CHOOSING to see them as Loved by God. Giving people value and out of that heart of connection you will start to flow. He started as a teenager in what he felt was a safe place( a van) of teens wanting to minister in the prophetic... they would bounce off thoughts and most were wrong what God was speakingbut after like 2 years there became shift..he could tell what was God and what wasn't..they took those risk in a safe place though...he also got a telephone directory of the church (maybe it wasn't the church ..I should reread it)and randomly picked 2 or 3 people to just call and pray with every day for two years..he had goals..he became stronger in certain areas..he exercised his faith. It's very important to value people and relationships. Even after giving a word he will get the person name, email, number or something to contact them to keep track of what has come to pass and if it did not he will apologize if need be. He know he is accountable before God and responsible in handling God word correctly. He is NOT arrogant, puffed up but genuine and has a heart to really minister to people and tells them step by step instructions. Building history with a community, rewarding risk, being accountable, God is speaking all around us, the gift of Words of knowledge which proceed most spiritual gifts..it's to HELP that individual feel connected to our living God. There so much in here..my prayer now is God give me your heart (more than ever before)...not because of the gifts but out my relationship with Him everything else flows better... that's the reality.

This is my first book about prophecy. I am young, eager to hear the voice of God not only for myself but also others. I have big dreams in my heart and prophecy seems to me the pathway to continue walking towards these dreams. My dreams include translating God. Hearing his voice in my own life has been a very precious thing and because of this experience I have been praying for more. My hope is that not only will my life continue to transform, bit those around me as well.This book by Shawn Bolz is exactly what I needed to read in order to grow in the prophetic. But not only the prophetic but how to be a body who hears Gods voice together in openness, honesty, and responsibility. I am very grateful to have read this book. Not only did Shawn explain and break down the prophetic in an easy to understand way. He also provided personal examples to illustrate his knowledge; with great wisdom he finds the balance of walking in the prophetic and loving others in every way.Concluding this book has brought me great courage to keep on asking God for more. But not only to hear his voice, but to pursue him and to encourage others to do so. I also feel equipped to take next steps in practicing and learning more about prophecy. Especially with others who are excited about this as well. While growing and learning together in humility and responsibly. For the gift of prophecy is a relational gift.Lastly, I am also very grateful for Shawn's heart. It is clear that his desire to love the Lord overshadows many things like the diversities in community and culture that he has seen and experiences. His faith to see others through Gods eyes always, not just a temporary lense. The way he speaks about others and shares examples of how God communicates with his children who do not know him yet has radically changed my perspective about those who believe differently than I do. For God so loved the WORLD that he sent his one and only Son. Thank you Shawn for bringing light not only to the gifts that I desire to grow in, but also bringing light into how I view others around me. You have truly blessed me and encouraged me to continue to pursue. May God continually bless your partnership with him.

I felt very convicted by Shawn's sharing about how to see God's possibility of his redeeming love to the world that have been misled or lack of right example to lead people to live right by choosing to do so on their own initiative and arrive to fully thanking God for a life they would rather live holy than not. Being a Christian for most of my life and being a missionary myself for 25 years at times I forget to be loving and fell back into my past negative experiences therefor I used the hurting lens trying to be cautious but have lost that love to keep believing God can and I began to implement how it should be done according to the moral of the bible and my feelings for the lost became mixed feelings of many negative feelings toward them and I got sucked into all the impossibilities and depressions. This book put me right back into a perspective how I lost my first love toward God and I withdrew from loving thus my words became so few now a day. When I have a heart to translating God to a world that has yet to embrace relationship with him, I must seek His love be not focusing on men's sinful baggages. We have no need to pretend spiritual and having authority over people just because they don't know Christ or not well enough. Jesus came to me to save me not base on my well behaviour but he built a relationship with me that empowered me to abandon my sinfulness time and time again. This book isn't just an easy read literally, but there's a depth in it that challenges my heart to repent for being legalistic.

I heard about this book through Shawn Bolz’ Exploring the Prophetic podcast.While I found the podcast series really interesting and inspiring, the book wasn’t quite the same.Bolz does his best to try and communicate the message that hearing from God and speaking on his behalf is something we can all do, but his personal examples left me feeling more deflated than inspired (that could be just me).I think this book is best suited for those who already have some experience in the prophetic and need a bit more refining.

I saw Shawn on Sid Roth its supernatural and bought this book from Amazon. I couldn't put it down. I found it really encouraging and inspirational. I especially liked that the practical tips he gives for developing prophetic gifts and he is so real and not overly 'spiritual'. i thoroughly recommend this book to anyone who wants to pursue the gift of prophecy or a just if you desire to hear Gods voice.

This is truly an inspiring book that I did not want to put down.I first saw Shawn Bolz on John Paul Jackson's Dreams and Mysteries. This book was then a recommended read on my kindle so I bought it.A book written with love and honesty, exceptional read for all not just those interested in the prophetic.Would thoroughly recommend.

This book opened my eyes to see the love of God in fresh new way. God loves beyond human understanding. It made me see that God is more interested in relationship than rules. I highly recommend this book, I am inspired and undone by the Love of God revealed in this book. And how God is so loving in revealing his Love for us through prophesy and his relationship with us.

A wonderfully encouraging book,which is full of Shawn's own personal stories and examples.It is heartwarming and makes you not only want to come up higher yourself,but help others to do the same.It restores and strengthens your faith as it is everything prophecy should represent when delivered in love,the right attitude,grace and compassion.I can't recommend it highly enough.
