More of a pamphlet than a book but it sure does cover what I needed to know. If you're not a knuckle-head and want to build a bat house, this is a great way to go. I bought used and it took long enough to get here but I was in no hurry.

Bought for my husband, he seems satisfied.

I purchased this Kindle Digital offering of "Building Bat Houses" by Dale Evva Gelfand : Storey's Country Wisdom Bulletin A-178, to learn as much as I can about this noble effort to support Bats and their attraction to my area. There are small southern bats in the evening here and I know they will stay around if given someplace to live and propagate. Yes, they have bad reputations for disease, but that is mostly false information from the ignorant. These little guys remove hundreds of flying insects each, every night they fly around my neighborhood and that is so much better than the spraying trucks that fog the air with poisons. You can help by providing shelter for them to hang out in your trees, on the shady side of your house or barn. Help them and they will help you. Good building and helping these little guys.

When I first saw this book, I was pretty excited. It looked like a very inexpensive way to introduce folks to my bat house hobby. I purchased the book, and read it immediately. I was a little bit disappointed. It seems like this book covers all of the main points about building successful bat house, but it was much harder to follow than the "Bat House Builder's Handbook." I also felt that the plans looked much less detailed, and the pictures were lacking in general.This book did have a ton of information about exluding bats, and I think that it is probably an exellent referance for people who are looking to get bats out of their attic.While this book is a decent bat house book, I would recomend that folks interested in building bat houses shell out the extra few dollars and get the "Bat House builder's handbook" instead.

Bats need places to live too. They also eat insects. This small book provides some plans for bat houses. I wish there were more plans but it is a start. This book can be a fountain for more knowledge and to help a family of animals which is normally ignored.

We just moved from our completely remodeled California home to a "fixer-upper" in Georgia and are starting all over again inside and out and I was curious to know what kind of animals are in this area. The book is beautiful and full of wonderful information. We are putting up several bat houses as we already have two in our work shop. Lots of ideas and instruction for bat houses. You also can modify from the basic designs.

It was very good at explaining how bats live and what their habits are. It also showed plans for a few bat houses. I like that part a lot. What I didn’t like is it didn’t give the dementions for how big an opening for bats needs to be. 3/4, an inch, half inch, 3/8 how big?

This little book has a to of info and lots of ideas ,I think it is a good little ' book ' for the price .I suppose it is more a pamphlet than book but it works !

Straight forward and well written. I have erected many bat houses over the years, knowing how beneficial these mammals are to our eco system.I would highly recommend that people educate themselves on bats, dispel the myths and fears, then build a bat house or two for their own property.This book will assist you in planning and building your bat house.

Its has lots of good information, i recommend reading this before you build a box. You might make a few changes from the boxes found online. Also has some interesting facts about bats that might be good to know.
