good for puppies who like to eat pee pads
this is the only holder that worked for my puppy who loved chewing up pee pads!! good quality holder and the peace of mind makes the price worth it. it's easy to clean if they pee on the edges and helps puppies learn to stay on the pad. only downside in my opinion is that i have to fold the pee pad to make it fit well... not too much of an issue since pee pads already have a crease in them :) definitely recommend!! and i already bought two lol

Keeps the pad in place, and looks great.
We bought this pee pad tray when we got our little Yorkie. We bought everything to match our white and gray home decor, so this was perfect for that. It's super easy to use. We buy the 22x22 Amazon brand pee pads, and they fit just right, and work great. You can put it on without fussing with folding anything if you want, but it's also very easy to fold the edges really quick for a cleaner look. We do both depending on how busy we are. I've attached pictures of what it looks like either way you do it, and how it looks in the kennel. It's nice that the tray still closes just fine without folding the edges on those busy mornings, and we are very pleased with it. It's very easy to clean. Usually we just swap the pad out, but we use Lysol wipes most of the time, because sometimes he tracks a little smear here or there on the ring of the tray. I'd soak it once a month just to get a full clean, but the pads are pretty good, so the Lysol wipes are sufficient for the most part. Our puppy was not affected by adding this tray to the pee pads he was originally trained on. It actually gave us peace of mind when he was tiny and would sometimes play with the pads. He didn't do it often, but he can't do it with this tray, which is good to know. It looks so nice in his kennel. We have this on one side, and his bed on the other. He's a small dog, so I don't know how well this size would work for a dog bigger than 20-25lbs full grown. Our's will only be 5-6lbs full grown and he has no trouble keeping everything on the tray, and has room for multiple potty times. I want to note that this tray is not 17x17 on the outside. That's the measurement of the pads you should get. It's more rectangular. If I remember, I will look for the measurements and add them to this review once posted, because I didn't realize the actual size when I ordered. UPDATED:Dimensions: 19.33"L x 16.53"W x 1.18"H Luckily, it fits perfect in half of our 24×36inch kennel, and I'm glad it's not any smaller or bigger. It would not have worked for our needs. I do recommend this. It helps with the look/aesthetics of your pups kennel, and protects the pad from the puppy flipping it and playing with it. It also keeps the mess from getting on his bedding, which makes life a little easier. I hope this and these pictures help. UPDATE 7/2/20: Our Yorkie is now basically full grown and just over 5lbs vs the 2lbs he was in these picture, and he still fits perfectly on the tray with a couple inches on each side to spare. I also wanted to update that this didn't seem to slow, and definitely didn't stop his progress in potty training outside, which was a big concern of mine. Once we got really focused with taking him out on schedule, &ALWAYS AS SOON AS he opened his eyes, then of course rewarding with praise &a half of a little training treat after each time using the potty, as well as any time he alerted us that he needed to go outside. He is totally potty trained outside right now, and has been since around or before the holidays. We still keep this in his kennel for those times we may over sleep or when we're not at home incase he can't hold it, especially since he's still a puppy. He has had an occasion pee or poop on the pee pad over the last 7mnths, but it's been rare. I still plan to keep this in until he gets a little older. I'd much rather just switch a pad out than clean a big mess, and launder all of his bedding because of an accident.

Holds pee pads well
I'm trying to pee pad train my dog on a patio for one reason: We live in an apartment with no yard in a city that sometimes gets long-lasting ice storms that sometimes take weeks to thaw, and my dog's has leg deformities that make walking in snow and ice painful and dangerous. He has realized that he can't handle the snow and ice and refuses to go out in it at all. I don't plan to use training pads regularly, but if and when those storms happen, I want him to know that it's okay for him to go on pads out on the patio so he doesn't have to feel pain. And, training pads are a lot easier to just wrap up and throw away than all of those wild outdoor potty contraptions. So far, my dog is too concerned with being a good boy to actually use pee pads. And, since we were working on this on a 3rd-floor patio that is subject to wind, I needed a way to keep the pads secure enough that they wouldn't fly away during training. I thought this product would make it obvious to him that this is a potty and that it's okay to use. First, this training pad holder does exactly what it claims to--it holds pee pads into place. If my dog were to scratch the pad, I'm sure it would come loose, but that's not really his vibe. It seems like it would be easy to clean after removing a training pad, as there are few ridges. For a smaller lightweight dog, I can tell he feels uneasy standing on this. The lip on the edges is pretty wide, which is probably why this product can secure the pads so well, but it does create an awkward barrier that the dog has to step over to reach the pad. It has little feet on the bottom to keep it in place, but that makes it bow down a tiny amount when he steps on it. It's not a huge bowing, but it does make him look nervous because he feels something moving below him. This is not the product's fault... I can't imagine there's a solution to a problem like that. I actually feel like this product looks far sturdier than others I've seen! I do wish this product laid more flat and didn't have such a tall lip around the edges, but I understand its purpose. I can see this working great for a puppy or extremely lightweight dog (maybe ~8 lbs?) who is working on potty training, but sadly, it's not working out for my adult dog who doesn't understand that it's a potty or that it's safe to stand on.

Aid For Old Fat Cats--So Simple & Effective
I bought this for our 10-year-old, 15 1/2 pound cat to use for peeing, since she seems to be having trouble getting into the regular litter boxes when she has to pee (she still uses the regular ones for pooping). IT WORKS! I had my older teen daughter set this up, along with the charcoal pads I bought with it, in an area in our basement where urination on the floor was becoming a problem. Since placing this, and without ANY training, there hasn't been any more peeing in that area, other than on the pad. Not only does the 10 y/o tabby use it, but my daughter saw my 3 (four?) year old cat going pee on the pad. I'm absolutely delighted that this is being effective, and am buying one for the upstairs bathroom, another place where the old, fat tabby has seen fit to not use the litter boxes. I want to emphasize that our 4 cats are all box trained. The vet said she all seemed well with the old tabby and there didn't seem to be a medical problem (no bladder infection) causing the out-of-box urination; vet did suggest it may be behavior, and that it could be from how big the old kitty is. We didn't have to train the cats to use this; just secured the pad onto it & placed it where there was peeing happening. The pads are also holding up well & it seems the cats don't bother to scratch the pad up. We've been using this for approximately 3 weeks now, so I am very happy. I do recommend trying this if you have an older and/or heavier cat that may have issues getting in/out of a typical cat box for going pee. This pad holder is very low to the ground; I suspect our 15.5 pound cat has a problem getting into the higher entries for the cat box when her bladder is full, but she can access this very easily. This makes for one of the simplest solutions, holding the pee pad firmly in place & sort of "designates" it's purpose. I'm amazed something so simple is effective.

PERFECT PEE PAD HOLDER: AFFORDABLE, EASY TO CLEAN & CHANGE THE PEE PADS, HOLDS PADS IN PLACE
I was THRILLED when we finally received it! I had been everywhere on Amazon & some other sites. I almost bought one that had a small pole since my newly adopted Chihuahua actually lifts his leg, unlike my previous male Chihuahua. But I kept running into a lot of holders that had a plastic "grill" to pee through the pad underneath. It didn't seem like it would be easy to clean. Plus, they were VERY expensive. However, I somehow came across this one. Once I saw the picture, it caught my attention. I watched the video & read more about. The only problem I remember is the video showed one that's foldable & easy to take anywhere with you. But that wasn't the case when we received it. However, I was still very happy with it. The only thing I wasn't crazy about was having to change pee pads because of the size. I changed to Earth Rated because that's what was recommended for this holder. My Chihuahua is around 5 years old & was "housebroken" before I adopted him from a shelter early last year. We live in an apartment on the first floor. But can't always run out the door when he has to go potty. He can wait, but I simply can't drop everything I'm doing to take him outside & I don't want to keep him waiting. He wouldn't really use it at first. But he finally got the hang of it. It's very convenient for him. I bought it primarily because I can't always go outside. Yet, it's perfect when it's raining & neither of you can't go outside, it's great to have when it's not safe to go outside in this area. I bought this around Black Friday week & got it for half its regular price! I'm thinking of getting another one to give him more space (sometimes he misses & accidentally sims for the floor). I've been cleaning it every time the pad needs to be changed. I use Biokleen Bac-Out for Pet Stains & Odors - Lavender Lime scent, which works great, but it's too expensive on Amazon. Also Earth Rated pads don't seem to work well with minimizing odors. I also find it a bit difficult to see if my dog peed because the bottom color is green. But they fit well & have adhesive corners. My dog never chews on the pads. The only problems he has is that he likes to push & pull the pad like dogs do to the grass outside when they finish peeing or pooping. Also, I don't know if the holder we have has non-slip small parts on the corners underneath. So since the floor is laminate & maybe has gotten more slippery from cleaning with the Enzymatic spray cleaner I use, the holder has been slippery lately. In the meantime, I'll try out the 100 pee pad pack sold by Iris, the maker of the holder. The previous pads don't have pads in the right size. I'm referring to Hartz 24 Hour Miracle Pee Pad in Lavender. They're white, but very absorbent & the best part: they help neutralize the odors. I absolutely recommend this pee pad holder! We got the Navy, 22" x 22", which was on a HUGE sale for HALF ITS PRICE! It's too bad I didn't buy two! It's easy to take apart (the top from bottom) to clean. The handles that latch down & the design do a good job of keeping the pads in place. If only I can find pads like Hartz, I wouldn't have to change the pads so much lately. Although I LOVE the Enzymatic cleaner Biokleen Bac - Out for Pet Stain & Odors in Lavender Lime, I'm getting tired from cleaning. But hopefully when it gets warmer here in Florida, it'll get easier again. My dog is really wonderful! I bought this NOT to be lazy, but to give him a happier, more comfortable life. He seems to be happy to have the convenience of the pee pads & enjoys watching me clean!

NO GO!
I was really hoping this would work, but it did not. The minute I put the tray down with puppy pad secured, my puppy managed to chew and dig at the edges ripping the pad away from the side of the tray and making a huge mess! I am not returning it bc this company makes you take it to UPS which is not convenient for me, so maybe I will donate it. If your puppy is massive chewer this may not be the thing for you.

Great idea.
Great concept! Unfortunately, the plastic area underneath the pad area isn’t very thick and flexes. When my dog used it the first time the plastic flexing up and down under her feet frightened her a little bit. I placed a rubber mat between the pee pad and the flimsy plastic and that stopped the plastic from flexing but since it scared my dog from the first use she won’t go back on it.

Great investment! It'll save your floors and help train your pup by giving him/her a specific area to pee/potty in the house!!
Though my pup sometimes like to pee right at the edge of this puppy pad holder, when he does, he usually just hits the lip of holder. He's a beagle/dachshund mix, and will probably end up around 20lb - he's around 15-ishlb now - so not a tiny dog, but is still a small dog. And with him being "not" tiny/toy, and him being a male, he tends to not aim so well sometimes when he uses it. This made using the PP holder a learning curve for me. I started out using the regular size pads in it AmazonBasics Pet Training and Puppy Pads, Regular - 50-Count , which fit amazing well; however, with Morty's - ahem! - mishaps with aiming, I tried doubling-up on the training pads - would put two of the reg size pads on the holder - and that left just enough pad "hanging" outside of the holder to meet Morty's mishaps in aiming. I was even able to still fasten the holder through the pad, which is awesome! However, using double to pads to cure Mort's lack of ability to aim for the center every time was costly, so I decided to shop around to see if I could find a solution to our aiming whoes. That's when I stumbled upon these pads at Walmart for just under $10 before tax, but they are available to purchase here at Amazon, Training Pads Extra Large Puppy Pad 26 inch x 30 inch 30 count & it occurred to me that perhaps one XL pad would give Morty that extra allowance he needed, and it could be more affordable to me - it worked! . These particular pads have been working out wonderfully because I continue to use just one pad and still get the overage protection - I'm pretty sure Morty intentionally pees on the edge sometimes - but since they're quite absorbent, it's very rare that he misses so much that he pees "through the pad." [The time he pees through the pad are the times he literally barely even hits the holder/pad at all because like I said, I'm pretty sure he aims for the edge on purpose most of the time.] Since Morty is a beagle/dachshund mix, he is a scent hound, which means that I can never just "let him outside" - I always walk him outside with a leash - because scent hounds follow their noses [pretty sure his nose is more Beagle than Dachshund lol]. And with it being extremely hot out now, I allow him to pee indoors at least 50% of the time; I am absolutely thrilled that he has taken to his wee-wee pad like a pro. All and all I'm very satisfied with this purchase because it has allowed us to have a clearly defined, and mostly contained space within out home for our pup Morty, to go potty in the house, and without ruining our hard floors. Moreover, since the holder itself is plastic, cleaning it up is a breeze! I just spray a bit of Clorox Clean-up on the holder, wipe it and voilà - odor-free home! As an aside; the holder mentions being skid proof, and though I don't doubt the validity in that claim since the feet, which are on the four corners, do have rubber on the bottom, Morty is still a 7-month-old puppy, and sometimes, he can be a bit ornery and play with his pee-pad - which is always fastened inside the holder. And that subsequently allows him to move the holder from it's original spot because he "pulls" it since he's trying to "pull" the pee-pad off. Also, when my daughter and her friends play fetch with him, sometimes they'll throw his tow toward the same area that his holder sits. When that happens, he tends to run across the pad/pad holder and cause it to move. I'm attaching a video to illustrate what I mean. On this particular day Morty was playing by himself with an empty two liter bottle - he loves bottles! On this occasion, his pad/holder is not in it's normal spot - he's actually moved it into the kitchen. Toward the end you can here him baying out the door at someone/thing. I believe it may have been the neighbor lol :) But since the times that Morty is able to move the holder are during times in which his doing it intentionally, I still wouldn't dock it for "not" being skid proof because it clearly is. I just wanted to point this out in case you furry family member is anything like mine, and is full of energy - I don't think there much of anything in my house Morty can move when he has high-energy like that. Also in the video, you can see how the XL pads fit onto the regular size holder, and the extra overage it provides - should you have a dog like Morty who needs a little extra overhang because of his aiming woes. I've also included photos of my pup, Morty. He'd climbed up on the chair for no reason really, but it's another example of his high-energy :)

Good Idea but badly executed
I bought this product because I live in a high rise building so Im forced to use training pads. Unfortunately, she would rip the pad into tiny pieces. The product’s idea is good but ai would have to give it a thumbs down as she always manages to pull the pads out & also chew the black locks on the side.

Nice.... Easy to use.... Dog uses the tray to poop.... Tray is of good size to accommodate my indie
Nice product... Once trained, my dog goes and poop there.... Very useful since entire poop is in one place, helps in cleaning next day.. we keep the tray in balcony and leave the balcony open for the dog to go and per/poop in it...

Good & sturdy!
Used it for over 2 months now. It’s sturdy, practical & hold the pee pads very well. Looks clean & organised compared to usual pee trays
