I was worried there wouldn't be enough room to actually pull the bottle out of the cage once fitted, but needlessly, it's perfect for women's bikes. The cage is metal and sturdy. It comes with two screws to fit to the frame. It grips the bottle strongly so there is no way it could slip out while you're cycling. One star is lost due to the fact that the bottle gets scratched when you pull it in and out of the cage. Also, the bottle smells of plastic when new, it took washing and then soaking it in a cold water to get rid of the smell. Luckily, the smell is gone now, so I'm keeping the bottle.
